As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for: • Acting as an effective leader or cross-functional team member in supporting quality disciplines, decisions, and practices. • Supporting New Product Development projects risk management deliverables. • Evaluating end user needs, standards requirements, and risk evaluations to generate design requirements and engineering targets which include design for manufacturing, assembly, and automation. • Performing process development studies in collaboration with manufacturing teams and bringing an open mind to design solutions which enable manufacturability internally and at external suppliers. • Testing and analyzing engineering prototypes using statistical analysis in Minitab and applying to the design effort (Multivar chart, t-tests, confidence/reliability analysis, Gauge R&R) to iterate concepts toward extremely innovative yet robust solutions. • Applying sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving quality issues as related to the position responsibilities. • Working effectively with and influencing cross-functional teams during the Design Change process to ensure proposed changes to products are systemically / thoroughly analyzed, assessed, controlled and implemented appropriately. • Supporting planning, updating and maintenance of product Risk Management documentation (Hazard Analysis, Design FMEA, Task Analysis and Fault Tree Analysis, etc.). • Interfacing with the core team and supporting manufacturing operation efforts / changes to ensure they meet or exceed internal and external requirements. • Interfacing with the cross-functional team to ensure suppliers are capable of manufacturing components (drawings reviews, capability analysis, design reviews, engineering builds). • Facilitating post-market activities to ensure our products comply with customer expectations, product performance standards, and quality system requirements through a risk-based assessment of post-market data. • Supporting or conducting Process Verification / Validation activities is preferred. • Reading blueprints/literacy including GD&T is preferred. • Familiarizing with inspection methods and techniques is an asset. • Using Microsoft Office Suite, and Minitab Statistical Analysis software (or equivalent) competently. • Supporting 3rd party audits, including follow-up on actions. • Ensuring compliance of QMS through authoring and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
