We are hiring a Senior Associate, Axios Live Partnerships to join our media sales team. Why it matters: As the Senior Associate of Axios Live Partnerships, you will be instrumental in developing and managing go-to-market strategies and resources for our expanding Axios Live portfolio at the global, national, and local levels. You'll also play a crucial role in identifying, securing, and tracking new revenue opportunities. Go deeper: This position reports to our Senior Director of Axios Live Partnerships and will work closely with colleagues across sales, strategy, and marketing. Key responsibilities include: • Developing outreach campaigns, identifying qualified prospects, and crafting tailored communications. • Axios Live event revenue pipeline management, reporting, and tracking. • Ensuring GTM resources are effectively rolled out to client-facing teams. • Supporting the sales team in addressing client inquiries and responding to RFPs. • Collaborating with the Event Operations team to manage inventory and ensure a seamless transition from pre-sale to post-sale. Worthy of your time: Ideal candidates should have an entrepreneurial spirit, be highly collaborative, organized + detail-oriented, and have the following skills: • 2-4 years of experience in media and/or event sales, client relations, and sponsorships • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. • Strong client-facing and customer service skills, with a keen commercial instinct to support our business development efforts. • Experience with executive outreach and scheduling. • Strong project management skills and sales fundamentals. • Ability to adapt quickly to the evolving needs of a high-growth sales team. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google Suite products • Detail-oriented with strong time management skills and an ability to prioritize effectively. Starting salary for this role is in the range of $60,000 - $80,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits. Note that the total compensation offered for this role includes a sales incentive component, which is contingent upon the successful achievement of predetermined sales targets. Steer breaking news coverage by assigning stories, editing content, and coordinating with newsroom experts in a fast-paced, remote environment. | Experience managing or assisting a breaking news desk, strong editing and fact-checking skills, SEO and social media headline expertise, and ability to work Sundays. | The big picture: Axios is looking for a talented, web-savvy editor to help steer breaking news coverage across Axios.com four days a week and on Sundays. Between the lines: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for Axios’ mission and have the following skills: • Experience assisting or leading a breaking news desk, assigning stories and ensuring quality reporting and editing. • Experience identifying the most urgent news on the web as it emerges, moving quickly to turn around coverage while coordinating with the newsroom’s topical experts. • Familiarity with the competitive breaking news space on the web, including experience writing sharp headlines built for social media and SEO. • Ability to conceive of search-first story formats to meet reader demand. • Proven attention to detail on fact checking and copy editing. • Positive attitude and ability to thrive in fast-twitch, high pressure news environments. • This role requires working on Sundays as part of the regular schedule. • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, especially in a remote-centric environment. Starting salary for this role is in the range of $58,000 - $93,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
