The selected candidate will direct and oversee the assignments, activities, and resources of a Market Sector housed within a client-facing Business Unit (BU). Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to other Division Managers, Project Directors, and Project Managers within the Rail and Transit (R&T) Sector to ensure the proper execution of projects within the assigned Region, as well as provide expert input for nationwide opportunities and projects. Actively works with IS Director, Business Development and Strategy (BD&S) Director, BU Market Lead, and BU Chief Operating Officer to develop and implement strategy and encourage cross-selling. Ultimately responsible for client relations, quality control, safety, and financial performance for the assigned Sector. Typically, responsible for annual revenues between $20M-$50M. Your role Strategy and Vision: Works with the BU Director, BD&S Director, the National R&T Sector Market Lead and other Sector/Market leads to develop and implement a strategic vision and Tactical Action plan for the Sector that are consistent with and support the National Market Strategy and assist with directing and coordinating efforts toward realizing vision. Champions the National Market Strategy in the region to promote alignment and consensus around the strategy. Ensures the Regional Market Sector vision contributes to overall BU goals and vision and is aligned with the National Market Sector vision. Activities will include planning, developing, and implementing strategies to expand geographically and services for the Sector within the Region. Reports Regional Sector progress against developed strategy no less than quarterly. Provides senior leadership for local staff and mentors high-potential contributors. Client Management and Service: Works with BU leadership and the Multi Market Solutions (MMS) management teams to ensure effective delivery against company goals and priorities and drives BU Sector client service activities for the Region. Develops client management needs/forecast, including developing prioritized resource needs and working with BU leadership to procure staff to ensure delivery for projects based in the Sector for the Region. Collaborates closely with the MMS management team and Division Managers to staff and deliver projects in the Sector for the Region. Identifies resource gaps and challenges and communicates those to MMS leadership. Participates in the recruitment and selection of candidates for senior level jobs within the Sector for the Region. Business Performance and Financials: Ensures all projects within the Sector/Region are delivered successfully against developed key performance metrics. Works with BU, Sector, and Market leadership to develop and deliver annual budget. Reviews financial performance of projects being managed within the Sector. Develops mitigation plans in collaboration with MMS leadership to recover financial performance on challenged projects. Reviews consulting contracts and, in collaboration with the AtkinsRéalis legal team, makes recommendations for negotiations with clients. Other key financial elements may include Recommend operating budgets, development of capital and business development and bids/proposal expenditures for the Sector. Responsible for monthly financial close reporting to BU leadership for the Northeast Sector. Growth and Sales: Coordinates with the BU Director, BD&S Director, and others to drive sales and growth for the Sector within the Region. Responsible for meeting annual Sector sales goals in alignment with BU growth targets. Makes initial Go/No-Go decisions for potential opportunities within the Sector. Collaborates with BDS Director and BU Leadership for stage gate reviews for high-priority pursuits. Provides senior leadership for capture of Sector Opportunities. With support from BD&S team, provides leadership over pre-positioning, proposal production, interview preparations and final negotiations for strategic opportunities within the Sector. Coordinates and prioritizes Sector marketing activities with the BD&S Director and staff. Recommends possible clients and/or project pursuits for the Sector within the Region. Maintains contacts with primary current and prospective clients, including initial contacts, presentations, negotiating agreements, keeping client apprised of work progress, and ensuring client's satisfaction; identifies and works toward the resolution of client relations problems. Represents the BU and company at appropriate industrial, professional, technical, civic, and government circles to enhance company image and communicate our capabilities. Attends and plays a leadership role in professional/technical associations and encourages participation of staff to promote the firm's name as well as to maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of professional discipline. Project Delivery/Project Production and Management: Evaluates the Sector’s ongoing project activities to ensure that high quality standards and productivity levels are maintained, and to keeps abreast of status of major projects within the Region. About you Bachelor's degree in field of practice. Post-graduate degree preferred. Management coursework and/or MBA a plus.15+ years of experience since B.S., with at least five of these years in a senior operating management position. Excellent technical and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage large scope operations and provide leadership to multiple levels of management. The BIM Manager will work with an interdisciplinary group of Design Leaders, Project Managers, and Engineers from our client's office in Sacramento (not remote). Your role The Digital Manager shall lead all digital engineering activities for the Track & Systems Works, with primary responsibility for BIM delivery, Cyber Security data specifications, and digital integration of train control and systems assets. The role manages the Contractor’s Common Data Environment (CDE), ensures compliance with set Standards, Asset Information Requirements, GIS specifications, and all digital data requirements for signalling, ETCS, telecoms, SCADA, traction power, cyber security and OCS. The Manager shall oversee the creation, federation, and quality of BIM models and structured data, ensuring all system components—train control equipment, cabinets, lineside assets, fiber routes, OCS supports, TPSS assets, and interfaces with civil structures—are accurately represented and coded. The role ensures all digital submissions, metadata, and asset data sets meet set specifications, support system integration, clash detection, testing and commissioning, and are fully verified for digital handover. Coordinate with IT department the selection of BIM software products, including but not limited to licensing compliance, incorporating new version releases, maintaining legacy software and customizing software for specific firm needs. Manage the implementation of supporting software and plug-ins for BIM. Evaluate new BIM related software and technologies. Stay informed on best practices for use of Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM. Stay informed on other BIM related software products and their interaction with Revit. Ability to use Dynamo and Python for automation is preferred. Responsible for BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement. Creation and maintenance of the template files to assure standards. Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions. Automate routines in BIM to support standards and productivity. Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all shop drawings produced. Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow process standards. Train and oversee the day-to-day activities of BIM users to ensure BIM standards are maintained in the creation of BIM models. Create and lead deployment strategies for the BIM implementation effort. Formal BIM training ideal but not required. 8-10 years of experience in coordinating BIM standards development and implementation into project. The BIM Manager’s role is to understand and communicate how BIM will affect project workflows, deliverables and project management for our client. The primary responsibility is to manage and coordinate BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement on all related BIM projects, files and models. Analyzes project scope and prepares or oversees the preparation of cost and manpower estimates, schedules, and job budgets. Coordinates work with lead technical engineers, and guides and mentors’ junior professionals and technical personnel on the design and drafting of preliminary and final plans. May occasionally travel to project locations in and out of the United States. Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary. Coordination efforts with the TDOT – Aeronautics Division and the FAA on project grant requests, inspections, and construction administration services. What will you contribute? B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field. A minimum of 8 year of relevant aviation related civil engineering or project management experience is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required. A knowledge of or experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus. Proven technical writing and communication skills.
