This is an ideal role for an enthusiastic developer who wants to build real-world web applications, modern interactive dashboards, and cloud integrations in support of NASA’s mission. Location: Washington, DC - Hybrid (1 day/week on-site at NASA HQ, 4 days remote) Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain custom web-based applications, interactive dashboards, financial systems, and process management platforms. Develop modern front-end interfaces using Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS, incorporating data visualization and dashboarding plugins. Maintain and develop backend business logic, application services, and integrations with modern AWS APIs and databases. Design and optimize database queries and data access layers using Microsoft SQL Server. Produce clear technical documentation including system workflow logic, UI mockups, and API requirements. Integrate custom-built components with enterprise web platforms and COTS tools. Test, debug, and refine applications in an Agile environment to ensure reliability and performance. Required Qualifications 2-4 years of relevant software development experience paired with a bachelor’s degree in a technical field (CS, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related), equivalent practical experience, or a coding bootcamp certification. Solid proficiency in core web technologies (JavaScript/ES6+, HTML5, CSS3) with experience in Angular, modern JS frameworks, or Adobe ColdFusion. Foundational understanding of relational databases (preferably MS SQL Server) and experience with version control tools (e.g., Git). Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to collaborate directly with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a NASA Public Trust or Secret security clearance. Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS. The ISSO serves as the primary cybersecurity and privacy advisor to System Owners (SOs), ensuring security and privacy requirements are integrated throughout the system lifecycle while maintaining compliance with federal regulations and Authorization to Operate (ATO) requirements. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary cybersecurity and privacy advisor to System Owners for assigned systems. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 5–7 years of experience supporting information assurance, cybersecurity, RMF, or information system security, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience supporting federal cybersecurity programs and the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF). Experience developing and maintaining RMF documentation, authorization packages, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools. Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, FIPS 199, and federal privacy requirements. Experience supporting Authorization to Operate (ATO), Continuous ATO (cATO), or Continuous Authorization efforts. Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
