GENERAL SUMMARY: The Regional Operations Managers, is responsible for regional operational compliance, charter renewals, the design and execution of professional development for site-based operations teammates (Business Managers and Office Assistants) and building a community of practice among Business Managers, coaching for Business Managers, regional operations systems diagnosis and improvement, managing and improving the year round student recruitment and enrollment process, ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Charter Renewal • Manage charter renewal process by developing and monitoring timelines and project plans • Oversee implementation of charter renewal project plans, collaborating with a diversity of stakeholders • Contribute to developing content for renewal petition, including pulling and analyzing data, creating data visualizations, writing leader biographies, editing for grammatical accuracy, clarity, and coherence • Stay abreast of policy changes and political context for charter renewal in the Los Angeles • Partner with Executive Director on strategy development for charter renewal advocacy • Partner with Executive Director and Engagement & Advocacy Assistant to ensure preparation for stellar performance at hearings • Oversee organization and production of materials, and partner with Executive Assistant on execution Enrollment • Manage Year round student recruitment and enrollment process • Enrollment timelines of the year • Liaison with district enrollment partners • School mint set up and liaison • Produce weekly enrollment report • Analyze application funnel • Partner with Regional Engagement and Advocacy teammates for marketing, outreach, and publicity. • Collaborate with CV Equity Team and Pro-Black Coordinators on design and implement approach to improve enrollment of Black/African American students • Identify "pain points" in enrollment strategies and plans, and redesign improved approaches • Orchestrate regional supports and collaboration with school sites Business Manager Support and Development • BM selection, coaching and support • Partnering with Business Managers and Principals, collaboratively reviews, monitors and improves operational systems and procedures at sites • Collaboratively participate in Operations CoP design, planning and execution Compliance • Ensure the organization is compliant with federal, state, authorizer, and Aspire compliance (i.e. SARC, SSC, and ELAC) • Manage and oversee successful completion of compliance requirements, collaborating with authorizers, Home Office, school site leaders and Regional Team as needed • Develop timelines and project plans for compliance • Provide consultation and support to site personnel as needed • Collaborate with Executive Director on local grant funding opportunities and management of current ones (i.e. Measure G & Measure N) COVID containment and response • Assess and improve COVID prevention policies, practices and routines • Stay abreast of changes in guidance and best practices related to preventing and responding to the spread of COVID • Advise regional and school leaders on mitigation process improvements • Provide direct consultation for site leaders Independent Studies compliance • Ensure compliance with Independent Studies hours, attendance, and contracts Facilities management and support • Serve as liaison between school site leaders and landlords to prevent and resolve facilities concerns • Support with acquisition of services beyond the scope of building manager • Partner with school site leaders on managing emergency facility matters Additional • Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, the Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements including antiracism, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior • Perform other related duties as required and assigned REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES • Demonstrated track record in seeing and dismantling racism and other forms of oppression • Strong organizational, planning, time management, and multi-tasking skills • Strong attention to detail and communicator • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills • Demonstrated skills in identifying issues, formulating and implementing solutions • Unafraid of data!
