We’re looking for a Senior Application Engineer to be part of making this/that happen. The Senior Application Security Engineer role is responsible for the implementation of measures to ensure the security of Arctic Wolf software systems, applications, code, and related components. This role will work within our Information Security Engineering team, collaborating with Research and Development Teams to provide guidance and resources that accelerate secure development practices. IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL GET TO: Lead Threat Modeling initiatives using methodologies such as STRIDE for new and existing software applications Develop secure coding & secure design principles Serve as the subject matter expert for Application Security, providing guidance to Engineering and Product teams Develop security testing standards and training for application security tools (e.g., SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA) within CI/CD pipelines Work with development teams to integrate security practices throughout the SDLC, ensuring secure development from design through deployment Help software development teams understand and remediate security findings within prescribed timelines using risk-based prioritization Research and review any reported or suspected application vulnerabilities from third party library and source code Implement and configure off-the-shelf application security technologies in the Arctic Wolf internal environment Create technical approaches to implementing application security control technologies Perform risk assessments of identified vulnerabilities and develop mitigations Contribute to a world-class security program that supports Arctic Wolf’s tremendous growth Mentor and coach junior team members to further develop competencies Assist in developing security-related libraries and tools to enhance security efforts within the team and organization Automate metrics delivery to measure program effectiveness and drive continuous process improvements Maintain productive relationships with Engineering and Product teams through clear communication and collaborative problem-solving WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH: A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity or related technical field; or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in software development within a large organization, preferable in a SaaS environment, or a thorough understanding of modern software development practices. Deep understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and corresponding best practices for mitigation. Experience in deploying application security technologies such as SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA, etc. Experience conducting threat modeling exercises and translating findings into actionable security requirements KEY COMPETENCIES: Able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effect. Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; probes all fruitful sources for answers; can see hidden problems; is excellent at honest analysis; looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answers. Comes up with a lot of new and unique ideas; easily makes connections among previously unrelated notions; tends to be seen as original and value-added in brainstorming settings. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions. Significant prior experience in large scale SAAS organization, performing and guiding others to perform. Experience working in regulated environments (SOX, ISO 27001, etc). One or more Industry Certifications – (CISSP, CCSP, CSLP, OSCP, OSWE, GPEN, GWAPT, CEH, etc). As a Manager in Arctic Wolf’s Data Platform team, you will lead a team building high-performance scalable systems that store and enable rapid search of cybersecurity telemetry. These systems are critical to enabling our customers and internal teams to detect threats, respond faster, and improve overall security posture. This role sits at the crossroads of big data, distributed computing, and cloud-native infrastructure. ABOUT THE ROLE A Manager - Data Platform, R&D plans and directs all aspects of development activities within their teams. This means that they ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives. They report into a Senior Manager or a Director of R&D or in some cases the VP of R&D. They work closely with R&D Leadership, Product Management and Security Services (S2) to ensure their teams are building what our customers and users need in a timely fashion. A Manager can have multiple team and technical leads reporting to them. Responsibilities Generates and manages day to day work for team(s). Works with Product Team to define and deliver on the 3–6-month roadmap. Manage team(s) that will deliver high quality, innovative software solutions, in collaboration with stakeholders such as architects, developers, product managers, and customer success teams. Support the team by providing direction, clarity and removing obstacles. Instil Foundations of R&D in their teams by living them on a daily basis. Execute the Product roadmap. Ensure teams are highly motivated, performing well, and delivering work on time. Remove any blockers preventing teams from getting their work done. Make sure each team is clear on the objectives and goals they are striving to achieve. Work with team members to deliver the key features. Work with Architects to define and execute on the company's technical roadmap. Implement the R&D Department and Team Responsibilities. Oversee the full software development life cycle. Deliver solutions at the intersection of Big Data, Cloud, and Distributed computing. Experience with distributed compute platforms such as Kubernetes, Kubernetes Operators, AWS EKS, AWS ECS, AWS SQS, Kafka, Docker Compose or similar ideal. Experience in cost modelling or forecasting workloads within cloud compute platforms (AWS or similar) would be a bonus. Experience working with services such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, ClickHouse or similar technologies would be a bonus. About the Role Lead the Strategy and manage activities with Regional Channel partners to identify and grow sales opportunities for AW. Lead the channel engagement strategy for the region.
