As Director, Strategic Analytics, you will play a crucial role in developing the team’s analytics capabilities. Experience with other technical tools such as R and visualization tools such as Power BI is a plus • Proven hands-on experience developing generalized linear models in a commercial lines setting including loss ratio, frequency/severity, pure premium, claims modeling • Familiarity with a variety of other advanced analytics techniques is preferable, for example: decision trees, clustering, text mining, random forests, survival analysis, etc. • Track record of delivering significant business value from small or non-standard data sets • Data analytics experience in mining, analyzing, and interpreting data through various statistical techniques • Evidence of analytical skills, problem solving, business acumen, and strong critical thinking • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to convey complex concepts to people across the organization • Combines critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills • Natural curiosity to understand the world around you and question as needed • Comfortable handling ambiguous concepts and breaking down complex problems into manageable pieces • Exceptional teamwork skills required to play a key role in cross-functional teams.
