We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Data Engineer to oversee the technical design and implementation of data solutions, champion best practices in data management, and lead a team of developers. This role is critical in ensuring that our data initiatives align with business goals and that robust technical plans are in place to support our roadmap. We are seeking a remote employee based in either the Raleigh, NC or Jersey City, NJ areas. Key Responsibilities Lead the team in the process design, technical architecture, and engineering practices on new implementations and day to day support and operations. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team through knowledge sharing and day to day activities (design & code reviews, story/requirements definition, writing/maintaining wiki knowledge base) Ensure adherence to the company's architecture, data governance, quality, and security standards and create standards for the team where the broader company standards do not cover a specific area Collaborate with product owner/managers and stakeholders to align data initiatives with the product roadmap. Manage the complete implementation team (engineers, QA, and BSA) Keep data projects on track with defined milestones and deliverables including raising risks with suggestions on how to mitigate, work around, or resolve them Foster a collaborative culture by promoting data literacy and self-service analytics across the organization Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture roles. Strong expertise in SQL (MSSQL or Snowflake preferred) and ETL platforms (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or Informatica) Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Able to articulate and demonstrate prior examples of implementing Proven experience leading technical teams and managing complex data projects. Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Enterprise Architect to develop the technology strategy for the services they oversee. This role involves developing technology architectures, maintaining technology roadmaps, simplifying technology through consolidation, rationalization, and eliminating technical debt. The Senior Architect will work closely with other Architects within the enterprise. This is a hybrid role, where employees are expected to come into the our Raleigh or Jersey City offices, twice-a-week. We are also open to candidates interested in remote opportunities based in the Central or Eastern U.S., with the expectation of occasional travel to our Arch locations. Key Responsibilities Architecture Expertise • Collaborate with stakeholders to define integration requirements and solutions. • Design and implement integration strategies (SSO/API/Middleware/Data/Event-Driven) for various on-prem applications and SaaS systems with a focus on resiliency, scalability, security, and performance ensuring seamless integration of SaaS applications with existing enterprise systems. • Participate in architecture and tech governance of digital products or application systems. • Review and provide feedback on solution architecture, coach and guide development approaches. • Conduct assessments, provide improvement requirements, and remediate standards/best practice violations. Management of Technical Debt • Define and influence technology simplification. • Identify and prioritize technical debt, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices. • Drive scalability, availability, and performance improvements. Collaboration • Work closely with other architects (Technology, Network, Cloud, Application, Data, Automation, and UX) and developing leaders. • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and accomplish technology solutions, standards, and IT strategic objectives. Hands-on Expertise • Support engineering, research and development, pilots, and POCs to drive adoption of standards and technology selection. • Develop and maintain reference architectures for new technologies and solutions. • Own the technology strategy for assigned services, maintaining technology roadmaps. • Evangelize and curate technology standards across IT for consistency and compliance. Skills And Qualifications • 10+ years of experience in a senior technical role such as architect or lead engineer/developer. • Demonstrated expertise in the implementation and maintenance of enterprise software and defining new architecture models. • Hands-on experience with conducting POCs and advising on architectural approaches. • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. • Must have experience architecting solutions using Tier 1 cloud vendors (Azure, AWS). • Must have experience in integration of widely used SaaS solutions in P&C Insurance space. • Knowledge of P&C Insurance products such as Guidewire Cloud Suite and Pega Cloud are beneficial. The AVP, Executive Multiline Risk Engineer supervises a team of risk engineers and conducts field surveys to assess risks. The role may include completion of both physical surveys and virtual/phone surveys, focusing on detailed assessments of operations, exposures, and control adequacy. Responsibilities: Supervise and provide support for a team of Multi Line Risk Engineers. Participate in the quality review process for reports including evaluating both Casualty and Property. Conduct on-site and virtual/phone surveys to assess property and casualty risks. Perform detailed assessments of operations, exposures, and control adequacy. Summarize findings in internal reports with appropriate loss improvement recommendations. Provide support and recommendations to underwriters, policyholders, and brokers. Prepare and conduct presentations on emerging casualty topics. Mentor risk engineers as one of the Casualty Subject Matter Experts. Required Skills: Experience as a people leader. Competency with NFPA, OSHA, and FM data sheets. Competency with Microsoft suite tools and applications. Strong communication skills for working with underwriters, policyholders, and brokers. Solid time management skills. Ability to evaluate sprinkler system adequacy and calculate loss expectancies. Strong consultative skills and the ability to execute detailed service plans. Desired Skills: Experience with Property, WC, Auto, Products and General Liability evaluations for multiple industry sectors including manufacturing. Strong analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Education/Experience: Engineering or comparable degree/experience. A minimum of 10 years of industry experience in a safety-related role; property and casualty insurance experience highly desired.
