Role description: Arcadis’s US Transit Technologies and Operations practice is hiring an early-career transportation professional with an Engineering or Planning background to join our transit data and technology team in our San Diego, CA or Seattle, WA office with potential to support project teams in the Puget Sound region, the Bay Area, and other locations. Our intelligent transportation systems practice works on unique and leading-edge technology projects for public transportation and traffic agencies across North America. We assist our clients with planning, designing, procuring, deploying and utilizing mainstream and emerging technologies and systems as they apply to transportation business functions. Role accountabilities: As a Transit Analyst, you will proactively support public agency clients throughout all phases of technology system projects, including planning, design, procurement, and implementation. This will encompass systems for traffic monitoring and management, customer information, fare collection, safety and security, business intelligence, and other operational needs. You will oversee vendor implementation activities, verifying and validating conformance with contractual requirements. Additionally, you will collaborate on essential project deliverables such as technical memoranda, reports, and engineering cost estimates. You will actively support business development initiatives by assisting in the preparation of outreach materials and proposals. Effective coordination with clients, various design disciplines, offices, and staff will also be a key part of your role, ensuring successful project delivery and stakeholder engagement. Qualifications & Experience: Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Transportation Engineering, Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, City Planning, Urban Planning, Human Centered Design, Cognitive Science, or a related field • Work: 0-3 years of professional work experience in a related field • Strong interest in public transit, traffic monitoring and management, advanced mobility solutions, and the end-user experience. • Passion for communicating technical information and developing high-quality analysis, reports, and other deliverables • Strong organizational skills and self-motivation skills • Working knowledge of technology and technology systems Preferred: • Knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems • Knowledge of systems engineering processes and technology analysis • Experience working with public agencies • Experience working with large datasets (>5M rows) • Experience developing scripts and applications • Knowledge of Git We know that experience comes from many sources - personal, professional, educational, and extra-curricular.
