Sr Business Objects (BOBJ) Engineer Job Description Business Objects Engineers are responsible for performing operational activities to install, manage, maintain, and secure Business Objects environments to ensure high performance and availability. Key responsibilities include managing user access (CMC), server maintenance (CMS, Adaptive Processing Servers), patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting to support business intelligence needs. Job Duties Perform sustainment and system maintenance activities by troubleshooting BOBJ issues, documenting issue resolution. Install, configure, upgrade, and patch BOBJ 4.x/BI platforms across development, testing, and production environments. Monitor server performance and resource utilization. Collaborate with database administrators to monitor adaptive Job Servers. Optimize server performance, tune CMS databases, and manage data loads to improve reporting speed. Migrate reports and objects using Promotion Management (LCM) and manage version control. Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and contingency plans for the BI environment. Manage user access, security groups and permissions within the Central Management Console (CMC). Perform database migrations, upgrades, and data extraction. Participate in on call support rotation. Build and maintain comprehensive documentation for problem resolution actions, root cause, procedures, etc. Drive continual improvement in systems operations through collaboration with DBA, OS, and Cloud Support teams Actively engage in root cause analysis, in collaboration with other delivery team members. Required Skills Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or equivalent work experience 5+ years of working experience with SAP Business Objects Administration. Relevant certifications preferred. Proficiency in Windows/Linux server environments Experience with CMS database maintenance (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase). Proficiency in setting up SAP BO security models (Active Directory, LDAP integration). 5+ years in a tier-3 production support position dealing with other functional and technology teams Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Strong ownership bias Deadline and detail-oriented Key Focus Areas System installation, Configuration, and maintenance Content and lifecycle management Performance Optimization and troubleshooting Support the Central Management Console (CMC), the Central Configuration Manager (CCM), and perform audit analysis using the Audit Universe. Sr Application Support Engineer, SAP Delivery Lead Job Description Sr SAP Support Engineers are responsible for delivering and overseeing the delivery of technical support to client SAP landscapes and satellite systems. They are responsible for the technical aspects of enhancing, updating and deploying critical changes, designing new solutions, and creating procedures in the SAP area. They are also the main delivery contact for a few client accounts. Job Duties Provide the single point of contact for planning and scheduling client technical maintenance and upgrade activities. Interface with client technical staff on regular meetings and help with planning and recommendations for improvement. Perform project-based and production support responsibilities as needed to support apiphani managed client environments inclusive of: SAP system migrations, SAP landscape refreshes, data protection including database backup & recovery, HA configurations and ongoing SAP system maintenance activities, e.g., SAP performance management, patching, problem management, etc. Build and maintain comprehensive documentation for problem resolution actions, root cause, procedures, etc. Drive continual improvement in systems operations through collaboration with both delivery and development teams. Actively engage in root cause analysis, in collaboration with software development and other delivery teams. Participate in development initiatives to improve operational performance. Collaborate with team leaders and team members to review workflow processes and SOPs. Execute against defined projects and report on their progress. Train and mentor new team members. Required Skills Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or equivalent work experience 8-10 years of relevant hands-on SAP Basis engineering with one or more area of focus. 3+ years of experience as an SAP Basis engineer in a service provider or advanced IT organization operating in a 24x7 environment Solid background administering SAP HANA databases Solid background administering SAP Sybase databases Understanding of SAP security principals Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ansible preferred Experience with configuration management and automation tools Familiarity with agile engineering practices (Kanban, continuous delivery, etc.) Experience working in ITSM tools, ServiceNow preferred AWS and Azure service usage on commercial or government cloud Development experience with a high-level language such as python or java a plus Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Strong ownership bias Deadline and detail-oriented This position is fully remote.
