Support HR functions including data management, onboarding, and communication materials in a hybrid environment. | Recent graduate in HR, business, or related field, with strong communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, and ability to handle confidential information. | Our Human Resources team seeks a forward-thinking and enthusiastic senior or recent graduate to join our full-time paid internship program. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic HR environment while developing foundational skills in talent management, organizational support, strategy, and communications. This internship will sit in APCO's Washington, DC office. Responsibilities: • Support the Human Resources team across various functions, including but not limited to employee programs and data reporting, to maintain accurate employee records and databases while ensuring data confidentiality and compliance • Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees in our HRIS platform VIA • Provide support to our Employee Resource Groups • Contribute to the creation of educational materials and resources for our employees • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, digital filing, contracts/POs, and invoices • Help prepare communication materials, presentations, and reports for HR initiatives. Qualifications: • Recent college graduate or senior in class standing • Major in human resource management, business or learning technology preferred • Excellent communication/customer service skills • Collaborative team player who also can work independently and be a self-starter, take initiative, and set priorities • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information at all times • Strong attention to organizational and grammatical detail • Experience with Microsoft products preferred, specifically Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Teams • Available to work 40 hours per week • Requires US Work Authorization, unable to consider candidates with CPT/OPT/Post-OPT status What are the core working hours and will I need to be in an office? Our interns work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We are committed to a hybrid and flexible working environment, and there may be days that you wish to work from home and days that we come together so that you get to explore more of our culture and meet other colleagues. You will be provided with a company laptop so that you are able to work from home and in the office easily. Compensation: This is a paid internship at a fixed hourly rate of $17.95. When is the closing date for applications? Applications will close on Friday, February 27th. When does the internship commence? Our program begins on Tuesday, June 16th and ends on Friday, December 11th 2026. We are looking for individuals with strong expertise and interest in public affairs, policy and regulation, stakeholder positions, project management and client service. APCO’s Public Affairs team helps clients anticipate and navigate today’s most complex and rapidly evolving policy challenges. Drawing on decades of experience across Congress, the Executive Branch, and state legislatures, we deliver strategic insights, policy analysis, and tailored engagement plans that drive meaningful impact. You will participate in high-stakes client projects, supporting key business relationships, developing and supporting client and internal deliverables, and participate in a diverse, multinational team. Our full-time, paid Graduate Fellowship is designed for individuals in their final semester or recent graduates of a master’s program . Fellows are treated as professional staff, participate in client meetings and actively contribute ideas, and support the overall management and growth of client work and the firm. This fellowship will be based in APCO's Washington D.C. office.
