THE ROLE The Senior Director, Regional Human Resources (Sr HRD) is a key strategic partner to both the field veterinary teams as well as the broader HR team. This role is responsible for bringing to life HR & organizational strategies, programs, and protocol that support the veterinary practices. The Sr HRD is engaged in all people & org initiatives, development programs, HR data analytics, health and safety, labor compliance, and execution of strategic plans within the region. In working within a multi-site, multi-state organization, the Sr HRD will closely partner with the regional leadership team to help define long-term regional strategy and identify ways to support strategies through talent management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Provides strategic HR leadership to regional and fields teams, this includes day to day coaching, talent assessment & talent management, and designing & executing long-range regional people plans. Understands and leverages organizational trends and market insights including talent planning, org design, and turnover management to ensure proactive talent management in the region. Identifies key performance indicators and prioritizes work to deliver the organization’s human resource and talent management action plans; this can include, but is not limited to – engagement results, turnover management, talent assessment, and overall culture index. Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and recommends modifications to policies and practices to maintain compliance. Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues. Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) Ability to excel with a large scope in a multi-unit, matrix environment. Solution focused and willing to get to root cause. Professional follow-up and follow-through skills. Excellent time-management skills. Strong work ethic and desire to achieve results. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills; servant leader mindset. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems; Workday and/or Stand Out a plus. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. At least ten years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred. The physical requirements of this position are: Office work and standing and walking during practice visits. Travel This role will require up to 50% domestic overnight travel.
