Lead software development projects for defense vehicles including planning, resource coordination, risk and relationship management, and proposal development. | Requires 10+ years managing complex defense vehicle software projects, knowledge of US DoD processes, PMP and Agile training, ability to obtain security clearance, and relevant technical degree or equivalent experience. | Job Summary: The Software Program Manager is core to product development focusing on the development and maturation of component, subsystem, and vehicle software delivery in support of complex defense products. Working closely with other product and functional leads, this role is responsible for leading a multi-disciplined team to ensure that timely execution of activities support the core engineering design including cost and schedule management, planning, resource coordination, risk management, relationship management, and decision making. The Software Program Manager is responsible for growing American Rheinmetall Vehicles' capability and successfully delivering key program objectives within the US defense market. Essential Functions: • Direct support to XM30 Combat Vehicle Product Manager and other Combat Vehicle Programs. • Manage Combat Vehicle software development projects including internal investment projects. • Lead a team by example, ensuring adherence to all agreed process and operating procedures. • Actively lead program incremental planning and support related Agile team activities • Lead continued development and maturation of ARV Program Management tools and processes. Contribute toward ARV Capture and Proposal teams preform lead role in developing compliant and winning proposals for software development scope • Recruit required personnel and foster an environment of employee retention in cooperation with HR in a timely manner. • Manage relationships with all stakeholders to ensure performance is optimized and be able to manage the political dimensions associated with a high profile program. • Deliver and control a small to medium scale project/projects including overall budget responsibility. Support continuous improvement of processes/efficiencies as well as product portfolio. • Undertake other duties as tasked by the Program Director or his/her delegate. Supervisory Responsibilities: • No immediate; team will be assigned on a project to project basis Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing) • Communicate with and effectively collaborate with internal program and technical colleagues on a daily basis, and with representatives from customer organizations when necessary. • Knowledge of the US DoD process and procedures for vehicle development and procurement. • Familiarity with the US Army TACOM and GVSC. • Ability to present technical / commercial / contractual solutions to clients and internal stakeholders • Must be able to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and be able to assimilate complex instructions easily. Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff to establish productive relationships. Superior consultation, diplomacy, influencing and negotiating skills is required. Must possess the ability to explain complex concepts in a way that makes sense to someone less knowledgeable about the topic. • Understanding and training in PMP, Agile Software Development, and Systems Engineering • Currently holds or has the ability to obtain US Defense security clearance. • Detailed knowledge of Military Standards and Regulations. • Demonstrable enthusiasm to engage with and support overseas colleagues to ensure all staff have the information and opportunity to perform to the best of their abilities. • Must promote collaboration and facilitate teamwork across the organization and its external service providers. Must be tactful, diplomatic, and work with integrity, honesty, and respect for others. • Must display exceptional listening and analytical skills in order to understand client concerns and needs with the ability to respond promptly and effectively to those needs. • Shall support and encourage performance by motivating individuals and teams to achieve high performance. Must be adaptable and able to prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Work on own initiative. Education: • BSc in Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Vehicle Technology, Systems Engineering or equivalent work experience. Experience: • Minimum of 10 years' experience in delivering complex projects, preferably in defense vehicle domain from start to serial production. • Experience in working in a multi-national, multi-organizational and corporate environment. • Practical 'hands on' attitude with the ability to operate independently. • Experience in capture, bid contract negotiations, and planning delivery. • Experience with program management tools such as Earned Value Management, DELTEK Suite of Program Management Tools, MS Project, Costpoint, Jira. Background Prerequisites: • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing. • All employment at ARV is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if the position requires it.
