Role & Responsibilities: • Counsel the business teams who manage the pricing of small business lending products, including legal, regulatory and compliance considerations • Consult on the development of all new pricing constructs for card and non-card business lending • Assess pricing constructs in light of applicable federal and state laws, as well as internal policies and procedures related to pricing governance • Advise on all matters related to the communication and implementation of new pricing constructs or changes to existing pricing constructs for small business lending products • Support the evolution of the Business Line of Credit, a non-card installment lending product that helps small businesses to meet their funding needs • Advise on all elements of the Business Line of Credit product, including marketing, customer acquisition, digital experiences, operational matters, new feature development and compliance with new legal and regulatory requirements • Collaborate on improvements to the Business Line of Credit, including web and mobile experiences of customers • Advise on phone-based sales strategies, consistent with company policies to promote fair and accurate sales practices • Advise the business with regard to customer complaints, and consult on regulatory exams as well as internal audits • Work with the Compliance organization to deepen and strengthen the risk management program for business lending Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree and J.D. from an accredited law school • Qualified to practice law in New York in good standing • 6 years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or in-house corporate legal environment • Prior experience advising banking and/or fintech clients with regard to lending products • Deep knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to lending • Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational and interpersonal skills • High level of professionalism and confidentiality, with a commitment to ethical conduct • Must have the ability to work independently • Must possess excellent writing skills Preferred Qualifications: • Direct experience managing complex projects in a regulated, deadline intensive environment • Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor and synthesize complex legal issues for business leaders • Passion for working towards creative, solution-oriented outcomes that effectively address legal requirements • Capacity to be agile and pivot appropriately when challenged with new information or evolving circumstances • Ability to gain credibility, manage expectations and generate buy-in through relationship building and communication • High-energy, team oriented, self-starter with strong written and interpersonal communication skills, executive presence, and ability to effectively interact at all levels within the organization • Must work well in cross-functional team settings and have a keen eye for initiating and driving end to end process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity Salary Range: $144,250.00 to $256,250.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
