Through its Center for Community Development (CCD), American Express National Bank’s overarching goal is to maintain a leadership position in financing, investing, and facilitating community development activities within our assessment area and beyond. CCD is hiring a CRA Service Program Manager. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to lead the strategy, execution, and evaluation of American Express National Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) service initiatives. The position is responsible for advancing the Bank’s CRA service goals through strategic planning, cross-functional coordination, regulatory alignment, and community engagement. The successful candidate will own the full lifecycle of the CRA service program — from program design and volunteer engagement to documentation and regulatory examination readiness. The CRA Service Program Manager will report to the Director of Community Development and provide leadership in developing service strategies that drive measurable community impact and regulatory performance. Lead and own the AENB CRA Service Program, including strategic planning, development, and execution of service initiatives that align with CRA requirements and Bank priorities. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on CRA service eligibility and regulatory expectations, ensuring activities meet the technical standards for qualified community development service. Develop and maintain relationships with nonprofit and community-based organizations to identify high-impact service opportunities and strengthen community partnerships. Oversee and guide board and committee placements to ensure alignment with CRA goals, while supporting colleague engagement and leadership development. Manage the CRA service data lifecycle, including intake, validation, analysis, and reporting of volunteer service activities to ensure regulatory accuracy and audit readiness. Lead preparation of documentation materials for CRA examinations, Presentation at CRA Committee meetings, and senior management reviews. Oversee third-party vendors and technology platforms supporting service reporting and community engagement, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes. Advise leadership on emerging CRA trends, regulatory updates, and strategic opportunities to enhance service performance and community impact. Contribute to the overall operations of the Center for Community Development, including participation in compliance testing, audits, and strategic planning initiatives. Support and coordinate management of CRA Grant Program. Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated experience managing or leading community engagement or CRA-related programs, preferably in a financial institution or regulatory environment. Strong understanding of CRA regulatory frameworks and technical requirements for qualified community development services. Expertise in program design, data management, and performance reporting. Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with business units, senior leaders, and external partners. Strong project management, and organizational skills, with a focus on measurable results and continuous improvement. Experience with volunteer management systems, reporting tools, and employee engagement platforms. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in a relevant field. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex CRA concepts to diverse audiences. Previous experience with CRA examinations or regulatory reviews. Experience managing partnerships or service programs with community-based organizations.
