Oversee global product communications, develop strategic campaigns, and manage cross-functional teams to support biotech/pharma products. | Requires 15-20 years in biotech/pharma communications, proven campaign development, storytelling skills, and experience managing complex projects and teams. | Overview Reporting to the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, this role will oversee our product communications function encompassing 4 globally marketed brands, and 3 late-stage product candidates. This role's primary responsibility will be to serve as the communications head for our leading TTR franchise including both our marketed products for ONPATTRO and AMVUTTRA (80%), while also overseeing communications for the rare and late-stage pipeline assets. This role will spearhead the development and execution of clinical data and regulatory milestones; congress and publication communications; scientific platform communications for lay audiences; unbranded awareness campaigns; and executive thought leadership campaigns. The Senior Director also oversee a team of three product communications professionals. A successful candidate will be a dynamic, experienced with a proven ability to effectively manage complex projects, work collaboratively with stakeholders and across functions, effectively network across the organization and communicate with senior leaders all within a fast-moving environment. Key Responsibilities • Develop and manage comprehensive global external communications strategy that advances business goals for the franchise. • Create and execute branded and unbranded disease state education campaigns. • Actively monitor the competitive landscape, ensure response readiness, and adapt communications strategies accordingly. • Drive the product and franchise strategy focusing specifically where communications can deliver value with clear and specific tactics. • Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment with brand strategies (commercial, medical, market access, communications, HEOR, R&D, etc.) • Support internal communications for the US TTR leadership team. • Working together with international to ensure consistency. • Oversee day-to-day management of Communications agency, including budget oversight • Ability to think creatively and strategically to develop awareness campaigns and mobilize action Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in related field, advanced degree preferred. • 15-20 years of experience required, preferably in biotech, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare. • Proven experience crafting strategic campaigns, editorial content, and development of thought leadership platforms. • Superior storytelling, writing and editing skills; strong oral communications skills and ability to convey complex ideas • Digital and social media domain experience specifically in engaging audiences, with the ability to deliver innovative approaches and plans within this growing and important space. • Ability to link communications plans and activities to business results. • High levels of tact, passion for the employee experience, commitment, curiosity, fresh thinking, flexibility and a global perspective. • Ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision-making, including setting and managing priorities and meeting competing deadlines. • Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality. • Comfortable with accepting feedback and adapting to deliver the desired product. • Ability to interact with all levels of the company top to bottom, including most senior company management. • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high quality and timely work product. • Strong project management skills preferred.
