| AI Insurance is transforming how commercial insurance companies operate by automating core workflows like underwriting, quoting, and client servicing. Our SaaS platform helps insurance teams work faster and smarter by combining AI-powered decision support with human-friendly, configurable software. We're looking for a part-time (1-3 hours/week) API Technical Writer to own and expand our API documentation and developer resources. You'll work independently to understand our APIs, proactively identify documentation gaps, and collaborate with engineering and product to create comprehensive, developer-focused documentation. Your work will include writing and updating API references and providing examples to help developers successfully integrate with AI Insurance's APIs. What You’ll Do Write, edit, and maintain high-quality documentation across our public documentation site (https://aiinsurance-1ef97d09.mintlify.app/), including: API reference documentation with endpoint specifications, parameters, and response schemas Code examples for API endpoints Getting started guides and quickstart tutorials for developers Collaborate with engineers to document new API endpoints, breaking changes, and versioning updates Review existing API documentation and propose improvements in clarity, completeness, and developer experience Create and maintain code samples and interactive API explorers Help develop internal API standards and documentation templates to ensure consistency across all endpoints What We’re Looking For Proven experience writing API documentation for web APIs Developer mindset with hands-on experience testing and working with APIs Strong technical skills including ability to test API endpoints using tools like cURL, Postman, or similar Excellent written communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly to developers English fluency, written and spoken Bonus: Experience working with Markdown, Git, and documentation platforms like Mintlify Bonus: Familiarity with the insurance industry Why Work With Us Small, high-trust team where your work will have a big impact Fully remote and async-friendly Work on a modern product that solves real pain points in a legacy industry
