The AES CE Operations team is looking for a Land Maintenance Technician with experience, this individual would play a pivotal role in ensuring that AES CE operates the portfolio to standards that exceed industry best-practice. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, and have the ability to learn. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Keeps safety and environment as number one priority and uses PPE when required. • Washes panels with panel washing equipment. • Performs land maintenance functions as related to vegetation including pulling weeds, mowing, raking, sweeping, and cleaning. • Operates landscaping equipment including tractors, sitting mowers, push mowers, weed whackers, and other required land maintenance equipment. • Recognizes process improvements and communicates them to the Land Maintenance Supervisor. • Applies over the counter chemicals (e.g. Round Up, fertilizer, etc) as indicated. • Applicator license credential preferred. • Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office suite, email, expense reporting, and work order management systems. Working Conditions • Outdoor work at solar power plants that includes some windy, dusty, and high heat conditions. • Driver’s License preferred and/or ability to travel to site. • Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment • Requires use of wear personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.) • May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals • Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities. • Performs other duties as assigned. • Work overtime and non-standard working hours as required • Occasional travel in CA. The Commissioning Engineer works closely with the Project Manager, Project Engineers, Vendors, Other commissioning team members, and AHJ’s through the start-up process. Commissioning activities include inspections, performance testing, trouble shooting, negotiating final compliance with AHJ’s to achieve placed in service status, and writing the commissioning reports. The engineer must be able to work independently with little to no instruction. The successful candidate will have a depth of experience in power systems, start-up activities, compliance, and testing. They can manage multiple projects at a time in different progress stages. They will also understand commissioning and start-up of plants is time critical and manage their time and resources accordingly. The candidate will need to travel as required to project sites. Key Responsibilities • Researching the commissioning needs for each project. • Manage all aspects of Commissioning, and instruct other on necessary tasks. • Establishing and Communicating commissioning steps to the project team to develop schedules. • Working at sites to perform inspections and system performance testing. • Communicating and leading efforts to solve problems with equipment that may occur during start-up. • Completing the commissioning reports to submit to 3rd Parties, AHJ’s, and internal records. Skills and Qualifications • Foresight to create efficient processes, Flexibility to adjust daily activities to the need, and Fortitude to make things work. • Bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent technical field • Proficient with job site operations. • 5+ years of experience in outdoor construction • 5+ years of experience in renewable energy technology • 3+ years of experience in storage system technology • 5+ years of experience with control systems and programming controllers • 3+ years of experience with HVAC systems • 3+ years of experience with IT communications protocols and tools • Experience with leading teams and a desire to do so. • Proficiency with MS Office Tools: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Schedule • Hands on experience with wiring, assembly of mechanical machinery, and operating test equipment • Possess understanding of construction and engineering principles • Excellent problem-solving skills • Inter team management. • Detail orientation and shown ability to manage multiple, complex initiatives. • OSHA 10 Certification and NEC70E Certification are a plus. • Professional Engineering License a plus.
