We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join the Payments and Accounting Technology team, which delivers secure, auditable, and modern commerce platforms for both guests and cast. This team plays a critical role in enabling seamless transaction experiences that directly support Disney’s financial operations and P&L. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, AI-enabled problem solver who enjoys building high-quality systems and tackling complex technical challenges. This role focuses on enhancing and supporting the growing digital footprint with 100+ acquisition and retention placements spanning Parks, Cruise Line, and Disney Store Payments, deeply integrated with the Disney Payments ecosystem, Chase applications, and Disney Visa Instant Credit, in a fast-paced environment, reporting to the Manager of Technology. Responsibilities: Build and maintain APIs and services for internal and external-facing applications Develop and support applications using cloud-enabled solutions (AWS) Write high-quality, maintainable code with test coverage Support sustained delivery demand, including major product refreshes or launches Participate in peer code reviews and collaborate to uphold coding standards Implement front-end features in coordination with backend systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions Support and troubleshoot existing systems to maintain uptime, production releases, and issue resolution Required Skills: Minimum 5 years of related work experience in software development Full stack engineer with strong cloud, API, and UI capabilities Angular (components, RxJS, state management) Node.js (Express/NestJS) Java 17+, microservices, Spring Boot, REST APIs AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Aurora) Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) UI and API testing (JUnit, Postman) Strong debugging skills, production readiness, and partner integration experience AI Skills: LLM/Generative AI experience (RAG, prompt design, guardrails) Agentic AI development (one or more: Amazon Q/Kiro, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) Python scripting for automation and AI/ML integration Comfortable working in an Agile environment Proficient in modern development practices and tools, with a strong desire for continuous learning and skill development Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment Collaboration with Product, QA, and engineering partners Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering practical solutions Adaptability to fast-paced, dynamic work settings and changing priorities Commitment to writing clean, well-documented, and maintainable code Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent education and experience) The hiring range for this position in Orlando, Florida is $130,000-$160,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered. What You’ll Do: · Champion the digital Guest experience, advocating on the Guest's behalf, and working diligently to build an outstanding experience for Disney Guests. · Lead delivery and ongoing maintenance to ensure successful uptime of the digital experience as needed. · Drives continuous improvement within the Product Operations team by implementing measurable systems and processes with a eye on efficiciency, scalability and team collaboration. · Trains, coaches and mentors Product Operations staff on idea generation, communication and overall quality & accuracy. · Translate digital strategy into clearly prioritized user stories, business requirements and documentation. · Assists with developing presentations to share and build advocacy for the digital strategy with Executive audiences and partners across the Organization. · Support with maintaining the feature development and backlog, attending daily scrums to help drive priority decisions and remove roadblocks. · Ensures appropriate delivery of product requirements across the development lifecycle, including partnering with design and technology teams to ensure the visual design, content strategy, copywriting and development align to the strategic vision. · Contributes to developing the go to market strategy for the digital Guest or Cast experience. · Supports the ongoing Guest and Cast experience by monitoring product performance, supporting A/B tests and recommending opportunities to enhance the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Digital Platforms, including mobile apps and websites.
