This Financial Analyst II role will have direct involvement in providing financial, planning and analysis support for the Customer Products & Services organizations. The Analyst II position provides an opportunity to get a unique view of Duke’s businesses outside of the normal regulated utility operations by supporting organizations that directly drive earnings. The Analyst II is responsible for cost management accounting, financial analysis and reporting, budget development and providing financial guidance to business partners. Responsibilities This role is a key contributor in the financial planning, budgeting & analysis activities for the previously mentioned organization with additional opportunities to work on special projects. This position partners with the business lines reporting to the VP leaders to provide solutions to all financial and accounting needs. Analysts provide technical/functional expertise in working with business partners to analyze the financial performance of the lines of business. This requires the ability to understand accounting and regulatory questions, coordinate special projects, and assist in the establishment of new products and lines of business along with other projects developed by the business. Significantly contribute to the month-end close process which includes but is not limited to: Posting journal entries and accruals Performing account reconciliations Proactively analyzing financial results for abnormalities Providing financial results timely to business partners ensuring accurate variance explanations, watchlist items and projection changes are captured and reported to upper levels of management Supporting the ROCR and P&L reporting processes Respond timely to any and all ad-hoc, regulatory, audit, and other data requests. Support the budget and business planning process including communication of budget guidance, assumptions, and timelines for assigned areas as well as providing any presentation material to aid the process. Build relationships and promote communication with business partners and Finance peers. Develop an in-depth knowledge of the business areas supported to anticipate needs and requirements from a financial and accounting perspective. Act as a liaison between the business and all other finance and accounting organizations to help resolve any outstanding issues, concerns, or questions. Coordinate and manage various projects and initiatives that arise throughout the normal course of business. Identify, develop, and implement continuous process improvement opportunities. Consolidate and roll-up financial results and analysis for executive level reporting. Support the development of insight/tools and practices to enhance projection accuracy. Actively seek to identify and meet business partner needs with a sense of urgency, taking ownership of issues and problems until resolved. This PM-II position will be working in the Enterprise Communications Strategic Project Program within the Power Grid Operations organization to provide project management skills, specializing in the ability to lead project teams through telecommunications hardware and software deployments in Duke Energy vehicles, in data centers, in Duke facilities, on towers, and on the grid. Initial responsibilities will include leading a project to install a land mobile radio system in the Nantahala region—including towers and shelters work, core server installs, Duke facility installs, and radio installations in vehicles. Future efforts will require this role to lead an entire project team or teams in similar projects to deliver quality scope on time on budget. Financial acumen and schedule adherence are a primary focus of this role. Project Manager II position has single point accountability or can be under general direction of a Project Director or Senior PM. PM-II position is responsible for management of all phases of project planning and execution to ensure project success factors are met. These include but not limited to scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration. Real Estate Sr. Project Manager Job Summary The Real Estate Senior Project Manager (Sr PM) holds oversight responsibility for the execution of Real Estate projects under the general direction of the Real Estate Project Director. This role oversees all phases of project execution—from contract award through closeout for high priority, higher risk projects—ensuring that critical success factors are met, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, environmental and regulatory compliance, safety, communications, security, and systems integration. The Sr PM oversees a portfolio of ranked projects as defined by the Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE) Risk-Informed Ranking Process. Acting as a unifying agent, the Sr PM provides leadership, decision-making, and strategic guidance across all project activities. This includes coordinating internal and external stakeholders, maintaining alignment with PMCoE policies, procedures, and systems, and ensuring delivery excellence from JLL or the Real Estate outsourced service provider in accordance with company standards. The Senior Project Manager must have the ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with individuals across the company, ranging from individual contributors to leadership. Responsibilities Oversight of Real Estate’s Outsourced Provider of Project Execution Services. The Sr PM will serve as the primary liaison and oversight authority for all project execution services delivered by JLL or other external service provider(s). This includes ensuring that JLL’s performance aligns with Duke Energy’s strategic objectives, operational standards, financial performance, and compliance requirements. Leadership & Coordination. The Sr PM will lead cross-functional project teams that include JLL personnel, ensuring seamless integration with internal service providers (ISPs), including IT, Telecom, AV, and Security, engineering, construction management, supply chain, legal, EHS, and operations. Contribute to the development of project field guides and process documentation. Process Excellence & Risk Management: The Sr PM will actively promote a culture of continuous improvement by partnering with JLL in collecting and applying lessons learned from past projects, actively managing risks, and mentoring team members for ongoing operational success. Through leadership and collaboration, the Sr PM will help identify process enhancements, share best practices, and ensure alignment with Duke Energy’s project management standards and methodologies.
