The candidate will support both Linux based workstations and servers in both physical and virtual environments. The candidate will perform daily systems checks and identify and resolve issues as they arise. The candidate must be able to understand and support standard network designs, configurations, and systems maintenance. Responsibilities also include software and hardware system installations, and troubleshooting of user reported issues. The candidate will be expected to understand industry standard deployments of typical open source and commercial software technologies. The ability to think critically, solve problems, and provide solutions is a must. At times, the candidate will be expected to perform their duties under minimal supervision. Roles and Responsibilities: New user on-boarding and workstation imaging and configuration Diagnose and resolve remote user and system infrastructure issues Infrastructure monitoring and optimization Plan and coordinate system outages and upgrades Network monitoring and maintenance Install server and network equipment in a datacenter environment Document infrastructure architecture changes Resolve user requests and issues reported to the HelpDesk On rare occasions, support after hours system upgrades Required Skills: Bachelor’s degree in a technology related discipline or equivalent experience may be accepted in place of a degree 15+ years experience with Linux operating systems, including installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting Must be a US Citizen Candidate must have a current TS/SCI clearance with Poly Experience in maintaining virtual environments and deploying Linux services Understanding of basic networking technologies (TCP/IP, UDP, Firewall) Desired Skills: Familiar with virtualization and Docker technologies Experience with automation technologies (Salt, Ansible, Puppet) Experience with Atlassian software (Confluence, JIRA) Experience with a wide variety of open source software and utilities Experience managing FreeIPA or LDAP based systems Background in Network Security, Intrusion Detection, and server monitoring Familiar with server and networking equipment rack installations Security Clearance Requirement: An active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position. In this role you will get to provide management and oversight for financial, contractual and regulatory matters in support of a large government contract. T5 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons in April 2023. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. Reporting and ensuring compliance with tax reporting requirements. Oversee the creation and processing of cost reclassifications/journal entries. Oversee the creation and processing of FedEx Shipping. Oversee the deployment and usage of mobile hotspots. Coordinate resolution of office maintenance and repair issues. Coordinate the ordering of office supplies. Oversee the electronic distribution of physical mail received in program office. Ensure proper business licenses are maintained for office locations. What Required Skills You'll Bring: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field. 8+ years of experience, including prior accounting/financial experience on a project. Must be willing to commute to DC office(L'Enfant Plaza) twice a week. Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed. Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity and manage staff. Thorough knowledge of industry practices and company policies and procedures are required. Familiarity and experience with tax reporting requirements for government contracting. Experience using and knowledge of government accounting software systems like Deltek Costpoint. Proficient in use of Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.), and the ability to train others in use. Experience generating and tracking key performance indicators for reporting progress to management. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
