As part of Itron’s expanding Global Managed Services organization, you’ll support mission‑critical Demand Response and Distributed Energy Management solutions that electric utilities rely on to keep communities resilient—especially during peak demand and grid stress events. You’ll work with a diverse, global team across the U.S., Hungary, and India, gaining deep technical ownership of complex, real‑world systems while directly influencing service quality, system performance, and customer trust. Duties & Responsibilities Gain deep technical and functional expertise in Itron’s Distributed Energy Management (DEM) and Demand Response solutions delivered as managed services to predominantly North American electric utility customers. Support mission‑critical systems that span device, network, and application layers to reliably deliver load control and grid resiliency outcomes when needed. Collaborate authentically and cross‑functionally with global peers in the U.S., Hungary, and India, as well as with internal engineering, product, and customer support teams. Deploy, configure, and upgrade system components of IntelliSOURCE in both test and production environments with a strong focus on stability, performance, and customer impact. Contribute to customer acceptance testing and validation of system upgrades to ensure high‑quality, low‑risk releases. Troubleshoot and resolve complex, multi‑layer issues across applications, databases, operating systems, and infrastructure in Linux‑based environments. Investigate, document, and track issues related to software, processes, data, and hardware, ensuring accountability and timely resolution. Partner with engineering and product teams in the bug resolution lifecycle to ensure fixes do not negatively impact existing customer environments. Prepare technical briefings, reports, and evaluations related to system performance, efficiency, capacity, and utilization. Create and maintain clear, accurate technical and training documentation to support internal teams and enable consistent service delivery. Train and mentor internal employees on system configuration, troubleshooting, and operational best practices. Operate in an agile, customer‑centric managed services environment with minimal travel required and standard business hours aligned to the employee’s local time zone. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of related experience supporting enterprise‑scale applications in a Linux‑based production environment, preferably within a managed services or SaaS delivery model. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience. Strong database administration expertise, including hands‑on experience with: MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server Database configuration, performance tuning, and query optimization Replication architectures (e.g., primary/replica, master/slave) and high‑availability concepts Advanced proficiency in SQL and database troubleshooting within production systems. Experience debugging complex issues using application and system logs across distributed environments. Working knowledge of scripting for automation and diagnostics (preferably Python or similar languages). Proven ability to work collaboratively and accountably across global teams while supporting mission‑critical customer systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical concepts clearly for both technical and non‑technical audiences. Preferred Skills & Experience Knowledge of electric utility Demand Response, Distributed Energy Resources (DER), or Energy Efficiency programs. Exposure to source code management and defect tracking systems (e.g., Azure DevOps / VSTS, GitHub). Experience with secure file transfer technologies (e.g., SFTP, CLEO) and encryption concepts. Familiarity with ticketing and service management platforms such as Salesforce, Remedy, or similar tools. Experience with MySQL database replication, failover strategies, and monitoring in high‑availability environments. Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or enterprise reporting solutions. Background supporting systems used by field operations or operational technology environments. We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to guide and grow Itron’s Grid Reliability product line globally. In this role, you will shape the strategy, guide portfolio development, and foster strong internal and external partnerships. Your work will focus on advancing solutions that improve outage performance, fault location, and prediction capabilities in the Low Voltage and Medium Voltage distribution system, leveraging Itron’s Distribution Intelligence platform. This position requires the ability to coordinate across functions, support and inspire teams, and cultivate collaborative industry relationships. Success will be measured by adoption of high-value solutions, growth in customer impact, and recognition of Itron as a trusted facilitator in Grid Reliability outcomes.
