Oversee and improve operational risk frameworks, conduct risk assessments, and report on risk metrics within the organization. | Requires 5+ years of operational or financial risk management experience, strong analytical skills, and leadership ability. | Ameriprise Financial is looking to add a Risk Management Manager to the team! The Risk Management Manager will provide critical operational and financial risk oversight by leading the development of key risk controls and managing day-to-day risk activities. As part of the 2nd Line of Defense, the AWM Risk team is responsible for monitoring, challenging, and reporting on the effectiveness of the 1st Line of Defense in identifying and managing operational risks in alignment with the Operational Risk Management Committee (ORMC). Key Responsibilities Lead Operational Risk Framework Execution: Coordinate and oversee implementation of the operational risk framework across AWM business units, ensuring adherence to ORM Center of Excellence (COE) standards and providing insights on the level and direction of operational risk within the business. Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs): Guide business teams in proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks; strengthen risk awareness and enhance monitoring of controls. Process Reviews: Evaluate business processes to confirm that control structures are properly designed to mitigate risks effectively. Control Testing: Oversee testing activities to assess the effectiveness of systems, processes, and controls; identify issues; support compliance with regulatory requirements; and improve operational quality and efficiency. Risk Event Identification: Ensure business units consistently log and manage risk events, support root cause analysis and remediation planning, and formally close events once the First Line of Defense has completed all required actions and documentation. Risk Escalation: Elevate significant operational risks to AWM Risk leadership when they present or may present material impacts to company performance, strategy, or reputation. Policy & Metric Development: Enhance and maintain operational risk measurement policies, procedures, and metrics. Risk Reporting: Strengthen risk reporting by applying research, industry best practices, and operational knowledge to produce insightful analyses and recommendations. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 5+ years of relevant operational or financial risk management experience. Strong analytical, organizational, and time management capabilities. Proven ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of leadership. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to drive results, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Demonstrated leadership experience through team management, coaching, or mentoring. Preferred Qualifications FINRA Series 7 license. Base Pay Salary The estimated base salary for this role is $87,400 - $120,200/year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. Manage multiple agile teams on data analytics, AI, and cloud projects by facilitating Agile ceremonies, planning, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication. | 5-7 years of project management experience including 3+ years as Scrum Master, strong Agile framework knowledge, cloud technology experience, and relevant certifications preferred. | Scrum Master/Project Manager will be responsible for developing and managing technology initiatives and their cost, time and scope. The primary responsibilities will include project and task management, financial and resource management, and delivery management. Key Responsibilities Serve as Scrum Master and Project Manager for multiple agile teams working on data analytics, AI Models, and cloud infrastructure projects. Facilitate Agile ceremonies, daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and reviews. Collaborate with Product Owners, Data Scientists, Engineers, and Business Analysts to define and prioritize product and project backlogs. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations. Identify and mitigate project risks and ensure timely delivery of deliverables within scope and budget. Communicate project status, dependencies, and progress to stakeholders at various levels of the organization. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and team empowerment. Create & manage project plans for enhancements and small initiatives. Manage requirements gathering, design and execution of the projects/initiatives. Foster partnership with customers/stakeholders/sponsors. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience. 5-7 years of relevant experience required. 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Scrum Master in a technical environment. 4 - 7 years’ overall experience leading and executing small to medium Projects/BAU enhancements in Distributed or Cloud Technologies. Proven ability to successfully steer projects on both Waterfall and Agile methodology. Strong understanding of Agile frameworks, including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe. Experience managing projects in data analytics, cloud computing (e.g., AWS). Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Provan ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Proficiency with related software tools including but not limited to JIRA, MS Project, MS Excel, ServiceNow, etc. Proven ability to lead/manage technology team members. Expertise in conflict resolution. Preferred Qualifications Certification in Scrum Master (CSM, PSM) or Agile Project Management. ITIL or ITSM certifications also preferred. Successful experience driving cross-functional and cross-organizational teams to meet project objectives. Expert skills in project management methodologies, processes and industry standard tools. Proven ability to work effectively with on-shore and off-shore employee and contract resources. Ability to formally present project related information in a clear, concise and persuasive manner.
