Role Description The Marketing Communications Lead is a strategic leader and people manager within our fast-growing, diverse business unit. This role is critical to driving the success of marketing initiatives by leading the development and execution of integrated communications strategies that deliver consistent, compelling, and timely messaging across multiple brands, therapeutic areas, programs, and customer segments. The MarCom Lead champions executional excellence and team performance, ensuring all communications align with business objectives, meet deadlines, and adhere to budget. Above all, this role demands a visionary leader who inspires and develops a high-performing communications team while providing strategic, results-driven communications solutions that advance Petcare business goals. In this capacity, the MarCom Lead will lead and support the Preventatives team by overseeing communications efforts across Petcare. Responsibilities As the MarCom Lead, you will: Lead the planning, development, and execution of segment-specific communications plans and programs that drive business and marketing success. Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing MarCom team focused on delivering strategic and tactical excellence. Ensure all communications touchpoints align with segment and brand strategies, maintaining consistent and appropriate messaging across channels and portfolios. Provide strategic counsel to Marketing and cross-functional stakeholders to optimize messaging and media mix by customer segment and therapeutic category. Oversee day-to-day relationships with communications agencies, ensuring deliverables are on strategy, timely, and meet quality standards. Own and enforce the Content Review and Clearance (CRC) approval process, collaborating with regulatory, legal, medical, corporate communications, and Investor Relations teams to secure necessary approvals. Partner across Zoetis Petcare Marketing, supporting functions, and agencies to develop and implement impactful marketing communications campaigns. Collaborate with the Operations Lead on internal communications strategies and executions. Serve as the primary liaison for agencies, trade associations, industry groups, partners, and marketing suppliers. Develop and track metrics to measure the effectiveness of MarCom initatives. Drive the development and optimal use of the CRM platform to enhance targeting, prioritize opportunities, and identify risks. Optimize resource allocation, including promotional budgets and team capabilities, to maximize revenue and profitability. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to develop and implement communications strategies that fuel growth. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the MarCom team. Share best practices and provide constructive feedback across Zoetis teams. Represent the MarCom team in various internal and external forums as needed. Perseveres through challenges and adapts effectively to change. Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field is required. MBA or advanced degree is preferred but not required. Professional Experience 10 plus years of relevant marketing communications or advertising agency experience. Proven leadership experience managing and developing a team. Experience in the animal health industry is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing integrated segment and brand communications strategies that deliver consistent messaging across brands, therapeutic areas, and customer segments. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Track record of delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines. Physical Position Requirements Ability to travel (10% of the time) Attendance to internal off-site meetings (ex. National Sales Meetings, off-sites, etc.), agency meetings, market research functions, etc. The employee’s usual work location is in an office or remote office environment. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,880-$260,015. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the base pay target range for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for short-term incentive compensation.
