Job Description: We are seeking a summer intern to support corporate clients in our Chicago office. You will collaborate the team and drive results inclusive of traditional and emerging public relations tactics, including digital. You’ll develop a comprehensive understanding of your accounts – their business, products, markets, and industry influencers. You will work as part of large, integrated teams on a variety of accounts, in industry sectors such as retail, technology, consumer goods and business-to-business.  About The Role: Corporate summer interns will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and clients. This role is to be based Chicago. To be considered, you must submit the following with your application: A resume of relevant work, education, and extra-curricular experiences. Should your qualifications align with our needs, we will reach out for you to complete the Corporate Intern Writing Assessment. Responsibilities: Ensure day-to-day account operations are running smoothly by anticipating team and client needs, taking initiative and keeping projects on track, teammates informed and deliverables moving forward.  Collaborate with team members to implement plans, initiatives and events, learning the basics of the clients’ business. Research, compile, write, edit & proofread materials, including media lists, pitches, press releases, fact sheets & briefing books.    Build and maintain media lists and coverage trackers.  Support new business as needed.   Support daily monitoring for client, competitor and industry coverage across social and traditional news platforms to develop daily reports.   Conduct research to aid in the strategy development process for current clients and new business pitches. Identify key trends to help teams stay on top of current buzzworthy news and emerging digital platforms. Participate in brainstorming sessions and program ideation. Qualifications: Collaborative spirit, results driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work against deadlines. Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Familiar with the public relations, marketing, or communications discipline through past coursework, internships, or personal experiences. Familiar with AI tools like ChatGPT or CoPilot. MS Office proficiency is a must. Must be proactive and able to operate effectively both independently and within a team. Passion for and understanding of public relations and media and digital landscape. Genuine curiosity for corporate brands and business media.  Must follow the news and be knowledgeable about current events. Proficiency with social media platforms, including LinkedIn Strong organizational skills. Pay Rate: $18/hr An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
