Full Description

ABOUT US In 2026, DigiDems is hiring over 30 digital strategists to support the most competitive Congressional races that will determine control of the House. The Digital Communications Pod Director—a front-line role in the fight to win back Congress in 2026—is responsible for hiring, placing, training, and strategically supporting a pod of Campaign DigiDems (CDDs), digital communications professionals embedded on an assigned set of these key federal campaigns. We’re looking for collaborative, innovative, and passionate digital strategists to ensure our partner campaigns are equipped with the cutting-edge communications tactics, talent, and technology required to communicate consistently and authentically online. POSITION SUMMARY As a Pod Director, your role is to guide a cohort of Campaign DigiDems (CDDs) and provide the strategic thought partnership they need to deliver results on the ground. This position is about developing the next generation of campaign leadership while providing the immediate, targeted strategic support our candidates need to win. This is a great opportunity for someone who is an expert on executing digital communications strategy on federal campaigns, is passionate about coaching and developing high-potential talent, and eager to help diversify the campaign space – all while helping key races that will determine control of Congress. Campaign & Partner Support • Act as the primary contact for assigned political campaigns, understanding their needs and ensuring they receive effective support from our team members. • Collaborate with key Democratic committees (DNC, DCCC, DSCC) to align on the strategy, training, and guidance our program provides. Staff Mentorship, Training, & Career Development • Provide ongoing coaching and support to our digital communications cohort members (“Campaign DigiDems”) after they are placed on their campaigns. • Help team members navigate their new roles, produce high-impact work, and plan the next steps for a successful career in Democratic politics. Recruitment & Hiring • Assist in recruiting and hiring new talent for the program, with a focus on identifying high-potential individuals, even if they are new to political campaigns. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES • Train and lead digital strategists on our country’s most competitive races. • Guide a team of Campaign DigiDems (CDDs) to provide strategic advice for key campaigns. • Partner with campaigns and committees to embed CDDs onto their teams for maximum impact. • Recruit and mentor early-career digital talent. • Drive our selective recruitment process to identify and hire high-potential future leaders, with an emphasis on diversifying the campaign space. • Oversee all team training and professional development, from onboarding to Election Day. • Implement cutting-edge digital strategies and best practices. • Pursue advanced digital tactics to give campaigns a decisive online edge. • Create and run advanced training programs on critical skills, including AI tools and digital strategy. • Support auxiliary DigiDems support programming, including our experimental online branding initiative providing hands-on support to additional Congressional campaigns • Build lasting infrastructure and talent within the Democratic party. • Guide the cohort’s career development to retain talent within Democratic politics. • Support efforts to retain top talent to help Democrats win, not just in 2026 but for years to come. EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR • Multiple cycles of experience as a full-time staffer supporting political campaigns at the Congressional level or higher, with a strong understanding of campaign structure, operations, and lifestyle • At least one cycle of staff management experience or director-level experience on a campaign or advocacy organization. Hiring and training experience is highly valued. • First-hand experience executing campaign digital communication programs with the following tools: key social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, TikTok, etc.); graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop, etc.); content managers and social listening tools (e.g., HootSuite, Sprout, etc.); paid ad platforms (e.g. Meta Ads Manager, YouTube Ads, Google Ad Manager, TikTok for Business, etc.) • High level of emotional intelligence with a proven track record of quickly building strong relationships with direct reports, teammates, supervisors, and partners. • Ability to adapt and self-motivate frequently (“figure out what to do” will always be part of both your role and the role of the DigiDems). • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Commitment to recruiting and developing early career talent. • Comfortable in a hyper-paced and exciting values-based work environment, with tight deadlines and even higher stakes! The annual equivalent salary for this position is $110,000. DigiDems offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage; a generous unlimited PTO policy; and a 401(k) with employer match for eligible employees. Please submit your application below. Only requested materials will be reviewed–cover letters will not be reviewed. The deadline to apply is October 10, 2025, and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
