Full Description

Zen Psychiatry is an online education company that empowers psychiatrists, psych NPs, and other mental health professionals to practice integrative psychiatry and build private practices. We believe the medical industrial complex overburdens psychiatrists and doesn’t serve patients, prioritizing medications over the complexities of treating mental illness. Our mission is to help psychiatric professionals escape burnout and create fulfilling, autonomous practices that leverage their strengths, bring financial abundance, and transform patient care. We teach both the business strategies and clinical skills to be successful. We run a high-touch mentorship program, Dream Practice Academy, where clinicians receive strategic business guidance, mindset coaching, and practical tools to start or optimize private practices. Your Role As a Fractional Business Coach, you will coach program members through the process of building or optimizing their psychiatry private practices. You will work with members via: • 1:1 coaching calls • Small group working sessions • Asynchronous written or video feedback This is a delivery-focused role within an established system, not a developmental apprenticeship or an opportunity to design new coaching frameworks. You’ll be supported by a Director of Operations and a defined curriculum, frameworks, and internal standards—so you can focus on what you do best. What You’ll Be Responsible For Client Coaching & Delivery • Coach program members through core private practice milestones (positioning, pricing, marketing, systems, mindset) • Help members clarify their niche and unique value proposition • Guide members through website strategy and messaging (you do not need to build sites, but you must know what “good” looks like) • Support members in creating and executing realistic marketing plans (referrals, content, directories, ads where appropriate) • Conduct private practice audits, including administrative/workflow audits to streamline operations and patient panel and financial audits to optimize revenue and sustainability • Coach around common mindset blocks (imposter syndrome, fear of visibility, decision paralysis, overworking) • Escalate issues appropriately when a member needs more support or is outside scope The ideal candidate will maintain a high bar for coaching presence, preparation and follow-through, adhere to program frameworks rather than “freestyling” or over-personalizing, and respect boundaries (this is not therapy). Who This Role Is For This role is a strong fit if you: • Have real experience coaching clinicians, healthcare professionals, or service-based business owners • Understand private practice business fundamentals (pricing, positioning, referrals, marketing, operations) • Are comfortable coaching both strategy and mindset without drifting into therapy • Can follow a defined coaching methodology while still thinking independently This role is ideal for someone who already has a full professional life, wants meaningful, well-scoped coaching work, and does not want to carry the operational burden of a full-time role. Requirements: • 3-7+ years of experience in business coaching, consulting, client success, or professional mentoring • Demonstrated experience coaching healthcare professionals, clinicians, or service-based business owners • Strong working knowledge of private practice fundamentals, including pricing, positioning, marketing, and basic operations • Ability to follow structured frameworks, worksheets, and coaching methodologies with consistency and discipline • Strong coaching presence with clear boundaries (this is coaching and business strategy, not therapy) • Ability to work independently, reliably, and within scope in a small, high-accountability environment • U.S.-based or U.S. citizen living in a North American time zone Role Details: • $75–90/hour (or equivalent per-session rate) for coaching delivery, inclusive of reasonable preparation, session time, and brief follow-up • $35–50/hour for required training, onboarding, and calibration activities • Estimated 5 - 10 hours/week (contract / fractional) We use a paid trial and call review process to ensure alignment with our coaching standards. Thank you for considering us and we look forward to hearing from you!
