About the Role As a Warehouse Operator at Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, Birmingham, AL, you will play a key role in supporting warehouse operations by accurately picking, packing, loading, and handling steel tube and pipe. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced in operating warehouse equipment in a fast-paced environment. What You’ll Do Champion and enforce safe work practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Prepare materials, products, and equipment for distribution and shipment. Process and fulfill orders from customers and internal teams. Pick, pack, and stage orders, verifying accuracy using scanning tools. Load shipments onto flatbed trucks or LTL carriers. Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials, reporting any damages. Replenish warehouse stock and rotate inventory using reach trucks or forklifts. Operate forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, and walkie rider pallet jacks to move materials efficiently. Standardize and optimize shipping and receiving procedures for accuracy and efficiency. Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse operations. Maintain regular, full-time onsite attendance. Who You Are High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred. Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience, preferably in steel or tubing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic math skills to support accurate order processing. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. Problem-solving ability to address warehouse and material-handling challenges. High attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and adherence to quality standards. Physical Abilities Ability to lift and/or move materials (up to approximately 50 lbs) as needed for warehouse tasks. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift. Ability to bend, twist, stoop, push, and pull while handling materials and operating equipment. Ability to reach in all directions to complete picking, packing, and loading activities. Visual acuity required to read labels, scanning tools, and numerical data. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.
