Zearch are hiring for a CTO or Head Of Engineering to lead technical execution, define the long-term architecture, and scale our clients platform and engineering team beyond MVP. As a core member of the founding team, you’ll own engineering outcomes and help shape product strategy, execution, and team culture. You’ll work directly with the founding team on fundraising, investor conversations, and technical diligence. Our client are looking for a 0→1 technical leader - ambitious, hands-on, and ready to build from the ground up. About You: • Deep expertise in cybersecurity, SaaS, or data infrastructure (founder experience a plus). • Proven track record building secure, scalable platforms in startups or enterprise environments. • Hands-on leader comfortable taking teams from zero-to-one and scaling for growth. • Strong architectural instincts and long-term tech decision-making skills. • Experience hiring, mentoring, and retaining top engineering talent; strong recruiting network. • Effective communicator with customers, investors, and technical/non-technical peers • Strategic thinker who can set vision and execute hands-on • Builder’s mindset with ownership, transparency, and high standards • Passion for shaping collaborative, high-trust engineering culture • Based in or willing to work closely with teams in SF Bay Area (preferred), Seattle, or Boston Responsibilities include: Own Engineering strategy & execution • Lead the development and delivery of our client’s platform — driving speed, reliability, and security. Set the engineering bar high, and ensure consistent delivery against roadmap priorities. Drive Technical Strategy, R&D & Innovation • Own our client's technical direction and R&D pipeline. Explore frontier technologies like MCP, A2A, and translate those ideas into real product innovation. Architect for Scale, Security & Enterprise Readiness • Make foundational decisions on architecture and infrastructure. Ensure their platform is modular, resilient, and scalable for enterprise deployments. Build & Lead a World-Class Engineering Team • Hire, mentor, and retain top engineering talent. Shape a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous learning. Build a modern AI-native engineering org from the ground up. Partner Cross-Functionally & at the Board Level • Collaborate closely with the founding team, go-to-market, design, and board stakeholders. Ensure engineering efforts align with company goals and customer needs. Engage Deeply with Customers & the Market • Talk to CISOs, developers, and partners directly. Gather feedback, pressure-test ideas, and ensure we’re solving real problems with practical, secure solutions. Be the Voice & Brand of Engineering • Represent engineering in executive meetings, investor discussions, and public forums. Communicate clearly about risks, trade-offs, and technical wins. Required Technical Skills: • AI & Agentic AI platforms (e.g., LangChain, AWS Bedrock) • Agentic middleware and MCP protocols • Threat detection and security monitoring • Data pipelines and graph databases • Cloud technologies (AWS/GCP/Azure), modern architectures • Identity/auth (OAuth, SSO), containerization (e.g., Kubernetes)
