Lead Software Engineer (MVP – Infrastructure Platform) Remote (U.S.-based preferred) 8-week full-time contract | $15,000–$18,000 Zapp EV is building a 24/7 EV charging flagship in Hollywood designed as urban infrastructure — premium physical spaces powered by disciplined backend systems. We operate under conservative underwriting assumptions and infrastructure-grade reliability standards. The platform must support clean reporting, operational automation, and measurable uptime from day one. You will architect and build the first production-grade backend platform to support: 24/7 operational coverage Charging session tracking & structured reporting Secure authentication & access controls Payments integration (sandbox MVP with production architecture) Monitoring, logging, and uptime alerting This is infrastructure software. Not a consumer-facing app. You should have: 5+ years building production-grade systems Experience shipping zero → one backend platforms Strong systems architecture fundamentals Comfort with defined timelines Clear async communication skills Discipline around documentation and long-term maintainability Structure: 8-week fixed build window Milestone-based compensation Full-time focus required Work must be fully documented and transferable High performers may transition into a long-term engineering role with equity participation post-Series A.
