Oversee project-level material management, manage teams, coordinate logistics and procurement activities, and ensure compliance with safety and departmental policies.
Extensive industrial construction materials management experience, managing large teams, coordinating between multiple construction teams, and preferably experience in material work packaging.
Job Description Material Manager III is a professional with prior material management experience. This individual will have oversight of all project level material management responsibilities. This position will report to the Procurement Operations Manager. This position may include managing other Material Managers. Responsibilities • Implements Site Safety requirements to Material Management personnel. • Implements Procurement and Materials Department guidelines and policies. Develop program to distribute, train and monitor for compliance. • Develop and manage the project materials mobilization and demobilization efforts • Interview, hire, train personnel to staff project materials and data entry positions • Performance management planning and salary action review activities for all field Materials Management personnel • Manage project Logistics functions for inbound – outbound shipments • Develop and manage materials related responsibilities between the following groups; Procurement, Expediting, Data Interface, Project Management, Client requirements, Partner (JV) requirements, and Sub-Contractors • Interface and communicate with; project and home office Management, reporting Staffs, project Crafts, Expediting and Support Services. • Oversight responsibility for materials system entry and resolution of supplier or other data issues • Supports Advanced Work Packaging activities and processes including Material Work Package Coordinator. • Maintains OS&D (Over Short or Damage) and MSO (Miscellaneous Shipping Order) documentations and logs. • Responsible for PM (Preventive Maintenance) tracking system and issuance – entry of work orders for inventory equipment requiring PM. Craft PM Staff may be assigned to Materials Manager if directed by Project Management. • Coordinate and report Procurement and Materials Department metrics and performance. • Coordinate surplus disposal at projects Qualifications Must have large/mega industrial construction materials management experience. Prefer experience in multiple industrial market sectors. Must have experience managing large teams and coordinating efforts between multiple construction teams, s uch as project controls, administration and construction. Prefer experience in material work packaging and detailed work planning. Prefer experience in managing multiple material managers and large teams.
