Full Description

About Us: ZABS Place is an employment training center and upscale thrift boutique in downtown Matthews. We're a non-profit focused on one core belief: Seeing potential in everyone and everything. We create meaningful training and employment opportunities for young adults with intellectual and developmental differences, helping them build real workplace skills through hands-on work in our Store and Warehouse. The Role: We're looking for someone who sees the potential in pre-loved items and people. This isn't just warehouse management—it's stewardship. You'll be managing donations with care, coordinating our Warehouse Team's efforts, and ensuring our Warehouse serves as both an efficient operation and a meaningful job-training platform. This is a part-time position requiring 3-4 days per week on a consistent schedule, with flexibility in choosing which days work best for you. What You'll Do: • Oversee donation intake with an appreciative eye—you understand that patina tells a story and that "gently used" doesn't mean "junk" • Maintain quality standards while providing empathic customer service to donors during what can be an emotional experience • Sort and evaluate donated items according to ZABS Place standards, recognizing value and potential • Coordinate our Pickup/Delivery Crew's schedule and workflow • Lead and develop employees, trainees, and volunteers—balancing efficiency with intentional skill-building opportunities • Collaborate with our Retail Team to plan and execute store merchandising needs • Create and maintain systems that keep things moving without backing up, while staying flexible when plans need to shift What We're Looking For: • Creativity and an appreciation for pre-loved items. Not all imperfections are a flaw • Experience organizing and implementing systems, with the flexibility to adapt when change happens • Patience, empathy, and genuine warmth, especially important when working with donors and supporting our Talent Requirements: • Passion for working in an inclusive environment alongside individuals with special talents • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds • Transportation and reliability • Clean Background Check Schedule: Part-time, 3-4 days per week on a consistent schedule. We offer flexibility in choosing which days work best for you. Our Culture: We believe in inclusion, ability awareness, and personal growth. We recognize and celebrate what people CAN do. We work as a team to create a space where everyone—trainees, team members, and customers—is valued for their unique contributions.
