About the Role YST Semiconductor Technology is seeking a Capital Equipment Purchasing & Logistics Lead to own the procurement and delivery of manufacturing tools and capital equipment. This role will manage purchasing and logistics for complex machines sourced from domestic and international vendors while supporting hands-on logistics needs typical of a fast-growing startup. This position requires a team-oriented, flexible mindset, someone who can manage large equipment purchases one day and help receive or move critical shipments the next. The role will work exclusively with tool vendors and collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Facilities, and Finance. Key Responsibilities Capital Equipment Purchasing (Tools & Machines Only) • Lead purchasing of capital equipment and manufacturing tools, both domestic and international • Coordinate quotes, vendor selection, pricing discussions, and purchase orders for tools • Partner with Engineering and Operations to confirm technical requirements, delivery timelines, and installation needs • Manage purchase documentation, contracts, and payment milestones in coordination with Finance • Track capital equipment purchases for budgeting, CIP, and capitalization support Logistics & Delivery Coordination • Own end-to-end logistics for tool deliveries, from vendor shipment through on-site receipt • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, rigging companies, and carriers • Manage import/export logistics, including documentation, Incoterms, customs clearance, and duties • Support Temporary Importation under Bond (TIB) processes and documentation • Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, damages, or customs issues Hands-On Startup Support • Assist with receiving, staging, and coordinating deliveries as needed, including simple shipments and manufacturing supplies • Support logistics needs during tool installs, facility readiness, and production ramp-up • Step in to help where needed to support operations in a startup environment Cross-Functional Coordination • Serve as the primary point of contact between tool vendors, internal teams, and logistics partners • Align tool deliveries with facility readiness, cleanroom requirements, and installation schedules • Communicate shipment status, risks, and timeline changes clearly to stakeholders Process, Compliance & Growth • Ensure compliance with U.S. import/export regulations and company policies • Maintain organized records of POs, shipping documents, customs filings, and contracts • Help develop and improve purchasing and logistics processes as the company scales • Support possibility for future transition to FTZ operations as the company grows (2026–2027) Qualifications Required • 5+ years of experience in capital equipment purchasing, logistics, or supply chain • Experience purchasing and coordinating delivery of complex machinery or equipment • Hands-on experience with international shipping and import/export logistics • Familiarity with TIB or bonded import processes • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment • Team-oriented and willing to take on responsibilities beyond strict job boundaries Preferred • Semiconductor, manufacturing, or advanced technology experience • Experience working with international tool vendors (Asia preferred) • Exposure to FTZ concepts or future-state trade compliance planning Benefits include: • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance • 401(k) with company match • Paid time off and paid holidays • Collaborative, onsite startup environment • Opportunity to grow with a scaling semiconductor company YST Semiconductor Technology is an equal opportunity employer.
