About the Role The Liberty Talent Manager serves as the point guard of YAL’s talent strategy — connecting great people to great missions. Operating within the Operations Team and reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this mid-level role is responsible for driving recruitment efforts, building sustainable talent pipelines, and ensuring open positions are filled efficiently and strategically. This position combines hands-on recruiting execution with long-term pipeline development, especially among YAL’s powerful network of student alumni, former staff, and State Chairs. It’s a dynamic role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, systems, and people. Key Responsibilities ● Recruitment Operations ○ Manage job postings and coordinate with external recruiters to maximize reach and candidate flow ○ Write compelling job descriptions and ensure consistent messaging across all channels ○ Oversee applicant tracking systems (ATS) and maintain accurate hiring records ○ Coordinate and/or conduct interviews as needed ○ Partner with hiring managers across departments to understand and anticipate staffing needs ● Talent Pipeline Development ○ Build and maintain robust systems to track and assess YAL alumni, student leaders, and former staff for future roles ○ Proactively source and engage talent within the movement and beyond ○ Develop scalable processes to shorten time-to-hire and improve candidate experience ● Strategic Growth ○ Expand YAL’s sourcing channels to tap into both liberty-aligned and external talent pools ○ Identify opportunities to optimize hiring processes, reduce apply-to-hire timelines (target: 60 days or faster), and strengthen team culture through better onboarding practices Ideal Candidate ● Experience in recruiting and/or HR preferred, but strong operators with a passion for liberty are encouraged to apply ● Excellent communicator, relentless in sourcing talent, and comfortable managing multiple hiring pipelines simultaneously ● Systems thinker who thrives on building repeatable processes and tracking outcomes with precision ● Mission-driven, ego-free, and ready to step into a pivotal role shaping the future of YAL’s team Compensation & Benefits YAL is prepared to offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
