Role Overview: As a Software Engineering Manager at YouGov, you will lead and manage distributed engineering teams across multiple regions. Your role is pivotal in driving project delivery, mentoring technical leads, and ensuring the successful execution of software development initiatives. What You'll Do: - You will manage and lead distributed software engineering teams across North America and Europe. - You will collaborate with technical leads to assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of projects. - You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and high performance within your teams. - You will coordinate cross-functional efforts to align engineering goals with business objectives. - You will mentor and develop team members, supporting their professional growth and skill development. - You will implement best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and deployment processes. - You will manage resource allocation and project timelines to meet delivery commitments. - You will communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and manage expectations. What You Bring: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role. - Strong technical background in software development, with proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks. - Experience managing distributed or remote teams across multiple time zones. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead diverse teams and collaborate with stakeholders. - Proven ability to drive project delivery and manage multiple priorities effectively. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience in the market research or data analytics industry. - Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Confluence. - Background in cloud technologies and DevOps practices. - Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
