Manage and support VMware virtual server environments including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
7-8 years VMware virtualization experience with strong scripting and Windows/Active Directory knowledge.
L3 VMware Admin- Virtual Work Location: Alpharetta, GA (Work from office 2-3 days a week) FTE- 90K-100K Key responsibilities: • Responsible for server operations inclusive of hardware, operating system (OS), and utilities on the server. • Has expertise in one or more operating systems and is responsible for support functions such as planning/deploying/maintaining/supporting servers such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Windows, database system. • Assists with restorations, application installation, testing, Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, and troubleshooting issues. • Provides migrations, performance tuning, analysis and support of infrastructure, and internal hardware. Provides configuration management and system monitoring. • Responsible for provisioning virtual servers and service management of all related Virtual Machines (VMs). • Provides monitoring of databases and supporting the infrastructure environment. • Analyzes and fixes performance issues related to networking and OS and provides application upgrades. • Responsible for configuration management, monitoring, and maintenance of all hosted servers. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills • Bachelor's Degree with 7-8 years of hands-on experience with Virtual server environment. Qualifications: • Extensive VMware Virtualization Experience - design, implement, and manage VMware environment, including Datacenter cluster(s) and managed by vCenter • Knowledge and working experience with Windows and Active Directory • Bash and PowerShell script or equivalent demonstrated experience • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. • Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented approach to project delivery. • Ability to adjust quickly, adapt to changing priorities and take initiative and own the task. • Strong attention to detail with excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team and with strong organization skills.
