The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Teen Program Coordinator to join our Center for Community Impact team. The YMCA focuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. As a Teen Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for organizing, implementing, and maintaining teen programs in partnership with Spanaway Middle School. Individuals in this role provide a quality experience to teens and parents, focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. The Teen Program Coordinator is a grant-funded position. Funding is in place through June 2026-continuation into the 2026 – 2027 school year is anticipated but not guaranteed. Key Responsibilities: * Assist with general teen programming coordination such as maintaining participant attendance sheets; measuring participant engagement; and refining program details as necessary to achieve high participant retention rates. * Implement and maintain a positive behavior-management system that is clear and aligns with the school, district, and state requirements. * Assist with site parent events, and assisting parents in filling in paperwork and follow-up phone calls. * Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements. * Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including school administrators, other Y centers and parents. * Review lesson plans and curriculum to maintain quality programming and/or assist in creating new program materials. * Audit, track, and order program supplies and materials. * Provide resources and support for new programming ideas for teen events and programs. * Assist with staff and program evaluations keeping director informed of program success and areas in need of improvement. * Meet performance measurement by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission. * Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events. * Staff will be responsible for frequent touchpoint cleaning and sanitizing in specific areas. * Staff are expected to adhere to all safety protocols and procedures. * Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * A commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment. * Minimum age of 18. * One year or full time equivalent experience in child care or education. (Experience with youth, ages 10-15 is preferred) * Experience with data tracking, attendance, curriculum and/or program planning. (Preferred) * WA State Food Worker card. (Preferred) * Demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, and communications. * Knowledge of teen developmental needs and social emotional competencies–such as self-awareness, responsible decision-making and relationship skills. * Experience working in urban communities, an out-of-school program, or other community-based youth programs. * Sensitivity to the needs of families including adults and youth. * Excellent written and oral communication skills and organization skills. * Positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations. * CPR, First Aid, AED certifications. * Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day. Complete other online and in-person training as required. * Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act). * You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment. * Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
