Description Under the supervision of the YCommunity Recreational Skills & Sports Director, in cooperation with the YMCA staff, and consistent with the Christian Mission of the YMCA, the Sports Coordinator will assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of all youth and adult sports including: basketball, soccer, baseball, volleyball, softball, flag football, tournaments, camps, golf programs, sports birthday parties and clinics. Responsibilities also include special events, marketing, planning, evaluating and implementing adult sports leagues. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES • Assist with the implementation, development, and monitoring of all adult sports league, recreation programs, sports birthday parties, summer sports camps, and clinics. • Monitor and maintain proper field and facility conditions and pre-game field and facility preparations. • Promote character development in all programs. • Assist with the implementation of program marketing materials. • Assist in recruiting volunteers for coaching and season volunteers • Assist in staff development and building staff moral • Assist in securing sports sponsorship and participation in Community Outreach • Assist in keeping field, facilities, storage areas and offices clean, neat and organized • Provide leadership to the daily operation of summer sports camps. • Carry out special projects as assigned.
