Support and develop AI developer tools, automate platform operations, and collaborate with developer teams.
3-5 years in engineering or IT support, experience with AI tools, scripting, and GitHub workflows.
Role: AI Assistant Tools Engineer Location: Remote Mode of Hire: Long-Term W2 Contract Responsibilities • Administer, configure, and support AI Code Assistant tools (Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot, Codex), including onboarding, policy setup, usage insights, and troubleshooting. • Collaborate with vendors to ensure smooth product updates, feature rollouts, and platform enhancements. • Develop automation scripts (Python or Bash) to streamline reporting, data collection, and platform operations. • Support basic DevOps platform tasks related to GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, and similar tools. • Monitor usage trends, adoption metrics, and performance of AI developer tools across the organization. • Automate infrastructure provisioning using configuration management and scripting tools. • Create clear documentation, FAQs, onboarding guides, and quick-start resources to scale adoption. • Partner with senior engineers on complex issues or platform-level improvements. • Work directly with developer teams to support tool rollout, training, and socialization. Required Skills & Experience • 3–5 years of experience in engineering, DevOps, platform operations, or IT support. • Hands-on experience with AI developer tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot, or similar assistants. • Strong background in Linux/Unix administration and scripting using Python or Bash. • Working knowledge of GitHub, Git workflows, and core developer toolchains. • Understanding of REST APIs and ability to use them for queries, automation, or reporting. • Excellent communication skills for working directly with developers, gathering requirements, and driving adoption. • Strong troubleshooting mindset and ability to learn new platform concepts quickly. Desired Skills • Exposure to DevOps tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Artifactory, or similar. • Experience with dashboards, analytics, or usage metrics. • Basic understanding of cloud services or containerization (AWS, Docker, etc.). • Interest in AI tooling, developer productivity platforms, and automation frameworks.
