Design, maintain, and support institutional IT systems including network equipment, software applications, user support, vendor management, and team leadership in an educational environment.
Experience in educational IT support, proficiency with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Google Workspace, and educational software, knowledge of data privacy regulations, and strong communication and multitasking skills.
General Description Under the supervision of the Principal and Supervisor of Technology, maintains assigned institutional and educational operating systems and software; and performs other job-related duties as required or assigned in accordance with all applicable policies of the Diocese of Phoenix SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY • Works as Senior IT Network Engineer which will be in charge of designing, analyzing, maintaining and implementing LAN/WAN equipment, and complex Telephony/VOIP issues • Responsible for Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, One-Drive and other APPs), Active Directory and Entra ID sync, governance, retention policies and maintenance • Performs all continuity efforts such as data backups, instant recovery and disaster recovery planning and implantation • Point of contact for transitioning all related vendor licensing to Xavier’s Independent Tenant such as Microsoft Licensing, 3cx Licensing, Printer Logic Licensing, ITGlue Licensing, Twingate Licensing, Datto Backups and others. • Manages, supervises, coaches and leads the support and help desk team members • Troubleshoot basic and advanced software issues, providing support to end-users including students, faculty, and staff. • Research, evaluate, and implement new software solutions to enhance educational processes and administrative efficiency. • Collaborate with the Director of IT and other team members to develop and execute strategies for improving software systems and user experience. • Conduct training sessions for staff and faculty on the use of various software applications, ensuring effective utilization and adoption. • Interact with parents, students, staff, and faculty to address software-related inquiries and provide assistance as needed. • Maintain and update documentation, and multiple databases related to software systems, including user guides, policies, and procedures. • Serve as a point of contact for software vendors, managing relationships and ensuring timely resolution of issues. • Work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to departmental initiatives and projects as required. • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned Qualifications • Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting. • Strong knowledge of curriculum support tools and educational software applications. • Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as FERPA and/or COPPA. • Expert proficiency in Google Workspace, Active Directory, Canvas, Blackbaud, and the Microsoft Office Suite. • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently. • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization. • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high priority tasks in a fast-paced ever- changing educational environment.
