INTRODUCTION & ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND: World Renew is a global, faith-based nonprofit organization engaged in humanitarian response, disaster recovery, community development, and justice and peacebuilding initiatives. World Renew operates through regional and country teams across multiple continents and works in partnership with local organizations and communities. World Renew is implementing its 2022–2027 Re-Imagine Strategic Plan, which calls for increased collaboration across humanitarian, development, and justice programming, strengthened regional capacity, and diversified, sustainable funding. To support this vision, World Renew seeks to engage a qualified consultant to lead the development of a Global Grants Strategy that will strengthen institutional, foundation, and corporate grant acquisition and management across the organization. Throughout this RFP, “Organization” refers to World Renew and “Consultant” refers to the individual or firm responding to this RFP. 2. PURPOSE OF THE RFP: The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals from qualified consultants to design a comprehensive, actionable Global Grants Strategy aligned with World Renew's strategic plan and global operating context. The resulting strategy will guide how World Renew positions itself with donors, strengthens regional and country-level grant capacity, improves internal coordination and systems, and increases grant funding and impact over the coming years. 3. SCOPE OF WORK: The Consultant will work closely with World Renew leadership, program teams, regional staff, and support functions to deliver the following services: 3.1 Assessment & Discovery • Review World Renew strategic, programmatic, and grant-related documentation. • Analyze historical and current grant portfolios across institutional, foundation, and corporate donors globally. • Assess existing grant lifecycle workflows, tools, and system limitations. 3.2 Stakeholder Engagement • Conduct interviews and/or focus groups with senior leadership, program stream leaders (HEA, TD, J&P), regional and country directors, grants staff, and technical support teams (Finance, MEAL, HR/Operations). • Where feasible, incorporate insights from donor representatives, peer NGOs, or sector networks. 3.3 Strategy Design • Develop a Global Grants Strategy aligned with World Renew's mission, strategic priorities, and donor trends. • Recommend donor positioning and engagement approaches for institutional donors, foundations, and corporate partners. • Identify priority geographies, themes, and donor segments. • Propose regional and organizational models for grant acquisition and management. 3.4 Systems, Capacity & Financial Integration • Assess organizational structures, roles, and skills related to grants. • Identify capacity gaps and recommend staffing, training, or role clarification. • Review grant-related financial processes (budgeting, cost recovery, compliance, reporting) and system integration needs with Sage and Martus. 3.5 Implementation Planning • Develop a practical implementation roadmap with clear actions, timelines, roles, and resource implications. • Present findings and recommendations to World Renew leadership and facilitate discussion. 4. KEY DELIVERABLES The Consultant will be expected to deliver the following outputs: • Inception Report & Work Plan (within two weeks of contract start) • Stakeholder Consultation Summary (report or presentation) • Comprehensive Global Grants Strategy Document (approx. 25–35 pages plus appendices), including: • Donor positioning and engagement framework • Regional and organizational grant acquisition models • Organizational structure, capacity, and systems recommendations • Financial integration and compliance considerations • 12-month implementation roadmap • Final Presentation to the Global Executive Leadership Team and Global Operations Team All deliverables will be submitted in English. 5. TIMEFRAME: The consultancy is expected to span 60–90 calendar days (approximately 30 working days) beginning in January 2026 and concluding by March 2026. The final timeline will be confirmed with the selected Consultant at inception. 6. PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: Flexible / Remote. The consultant must be available to collaborate with World Renew staff across time zones, with primary availability during Eastern Time (ET) business hours. 7. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Proposals should demonstrate the following qualifications: • Proven experience developing grants or resource mobilization strategies for international NGOs. • Strong knowledge of institutional donors (e.g., Global Affairs Canada, U.S. government agencies), foundations, and corporate giving. • Experience working in humanitarian, development, and/or justice programming contexts. • Excellent analytical, facilitation, and written communication skills. • Familiarity with faith-based or values-driven organizations is an asset. • Advanced degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience. • Familiarity with faith-based, humanitarian, development, or justice-oriented organizations is strongly preferred. 8. Proposal Submission Requirements Interested consultants or firms should submit a proposal that includes: 8.1 Technical Proposal (5–8 pages) • Understanding of the assignment and World Renew's context. • Proposed methodology and approach. • Work plan and timeline. • Description of team composition and roles (if applicable). 8.2 Consultant Profile • CV(s) of the lead consultant and key team members. • Summary of relevant assignments and outcomes. 8.3 Financial Proposal • Detailed budget including daily rates, level of effort by task, and total cost. • Any anticipated expenses. 8.4 References • At least two references from comparable assignments. Evaluation Criteria Proposals will be evaluated using the following criteria and weightings: Criteria Weight Understanding of the Assignment: Demonstrated understanding of World Renew's mission, strategic priorities, and global operating context, as well as the current institutional and foundation funding landscape and the organizational complexity involved in global grants development. 20% Relevant Experience: Depth and relevance of experience in developing grants strategies, resource mobilization plans, or similar initiatives for international nonprofit organizations, including demonstrated success with institutional, government, corporate, and foundation donors. 25% Methodology and Approach: Quality, clarity, feasibility, and innovativeness of the proposed methodology for delivering the scope of work, including stakeholder engagement, analysis, strategy development, and implementation planning. 25% Team Composition and Expertise: Qualifications, expertise, and complementarity of the proposed consultant(s) or team, including relevant academic background, sector experience, technical skills, and clearly defined roles and responsibilities. 15% Cost Effectiveness: Overall value for money, including competitiveness and transparency of proposed rates, total cost of the engagement, and alignment of the budget with the proposed work plan, level of effort, and deliverables. 15% 10.
