Senior Director, Retail Operations Location: Remote (with travel) Reports to: SVP, North America Land & Retail Team Leadership: 2–3 direct reports with potential to scale Lead the Future of Retail Fuel Operations We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Director of Retail Operations to lead and elevate our Retail Lease Consignment division. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring brand and regulatory compliance, and enabling scalable growth across a national portfolio of fuel and convenience retail sites. As the operational heartbeat of our retail business, you will serve as the primary executive liaison for site operators, vendors, and internal stakeholders—ensuring seamless execution, continuous improvement, and alignment with our broader commercial strategy. What You’ll Lead & Deliver Operational Excellence & Operator Success Serve as the executive point of contact for site operators, ensuring high-performance operations and exceptional customer experiences. Lead onboarding, training, and performance management programs to empower operators and drive consistency across locations. Brand & Compliance Leadership Enforce adherence to major fuel brand standards and internal policies through regular audits and proactive coaching. Oversee environmental compliance, including tank inspections, spill prevention, and vendor coordination for repairs and testing. Fuel & Site Readiness Strategy Support fuel pricing, inventory reconciliation, and system maintenance in collaboration with fuel operations teams. Lead turn-key site readiness for new and acquired locations, coordinating across real estate, construction, and compliance functions. Growth & Innovation Identify and execute on opportunities for expansion—new markets, site development, marketing programs, and strategic acquisitions. Develop scalable operational frameworks to support long-term growth and profitability. Cross-Functional Partnership Collaborate with Retail Sales, Real Estate, Finance, Legal, and Operations to align execution with strategic goals. Provide operational insights and data to support fuel sales, branding strategies, and broader business initiatives. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field (MBA preferred). 10+ years of progressive leadership in fuel, convenience retail, or multi-site operations. Proven track record in environmental compliance, fuel systems, and brand standards enforcement. Experience scaling retail operations, launching new sites, and leading cross-functional initiatives. Strong command of ERP systems, fuel pricing tools, and compliance platforms. Executive presence, with exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. A robust professional network within the fuel and convenience retail industry.
