Fuel & Retail Site Operations Manager Location: Remote with frequent travel Located within the Central Region (Texas/Missouri/Arkansas ideal). About the Role We’re looking for an experienced operations leader to partner with our current Consignment Retail Operations Manager to jointly manage our expanding network of consignment retail sites. This role will take ownership of approximately half of the portfolio, supporting site readiness, construction projects, environmental compliance, operator onboarding, vendor management, and capital project execution. You’ll play a critical role in evaluating and restoring sites—from initial assessment through turnkey handoff—while helping build a scalable, consistent operating model across the network. This includes supporting growth initiatives such as new site onboarding, M&A evaluations, and operator/vendor onboarding. This is a hands‑on, field‑heavy role that requires strong operational judgment, construction awareness, environmental understanding, and the ability to manage multiple sites and vendors simultaneously. What You’ll Do Operational & Site Management Lead day‑to‑day operational oversight of assigned consignment retail sites. Conduct site walks, assessments, and condition evaluations, including structural, fuel‑system, and environmental risk identification. Verify site readiness and ensure locations meet all city, state, environmental, and safety codes before turnover. Construction, Restoration & Vendor Management Manage construction, refurbishment, and repair activities in partnership with general contractors and design‑build partners. Review vendor scopes, quotes, and project plans; ensure quality execution and completion of punch lists. Procure, onboard, and manage external vendors in collaboration with the Procurement team. Coordinate with contractors performing design‑build work, permitting, and multi‑trade construction. Environmental & Fuel System Oversight Support environmental due diligence, including contamination history review, tank and pipeline assessment, and coordination of Phase II testing. Maintain working knowledge of underground storage tank (UST) systems, dispensers, piping, emergency stops, and fuel‑system compliance requirements. Train operators on fuel-system handling, environmental protocols, and spill‑response requirements. CAPEX/OPEX & Project Financials Manage and track CapEx and OpEx budgets related to site restoration and operational readiness. Review vendor proposals, negotiate cost efficiencies, and ensure projects remain within approved budget. Support reporting packages for internal stakeholders and partners. Operator Support & Onboarding Partner with internal teams (Sales, HSE, Real Estate, Legal, Finance, Procurement) to onboard and approve operators (MSOs). Utilize systems such as KissFlow to initiate vendor/operator onboarding workflows. Train newly onboarded operators on store layout, equipment, fuel system operations, and emergency protocols. Growth, M&A, and Strategic Support Support operational due diligence for new sites and M&A opportunities. Assist in evaluating future portfolio additions and site feasibility. Conduct site audits and drive corrective actions. What You Bring Required Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Strong operational leadership experience in fuel, retail, convenience store, cardlock, or real‑estate–based site operations. Working knowledge of construction or general contracting concepts (able to identify issues in building systems, equipment, and contractor work). Experience with vendor management and multi‑trade coordination. Ability to read, interpret, and work within contracts, permits, and regulatory requirements. Strong communication, problem‑solving, and project‑management skills. Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams. Ability and willingness to travel frequently across Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, and additional regions. Preferred Knowledge of fueling infrastructure, UST systems, dispensers, piping, and environmental regulations. Experience with environmental due diligence, spill reporting, or fuel‑system compliance. Background in M&A integration or operational due diligence. Familiarity with convenience-store restoration, real estate turnarounds, or site‑readiness work.
