Hiring Unit The Office of the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO) is the independent accountability mechanism for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), members of the World Bank Group, reporting directly to the IFC and MIGA Boards. CAO’s mandate is to facilitate the resolution of complaints from people affected by IFC and MIGA projects, enhance environmental and social project outcomes, and foster public accountability and learning to enhance IFC’s and MIGA’s performance. II. Position Overview Communication and outreach are integral activities that support CAO’s work and strategic engagement with internal and external stakeholders. The CAO Communications Team is looking for a Communications Assistant to support day-to-day communications and outreach activities. The successful candidate will assist with content development for digital and social channels; support event logistics; maintain communications databases; and work closely with teams across CAO. • Days: 2-3 days/week • Reporting: Position reports to the Head of Communications, working closely with the Communications Officer and Communications Analyst. III. Responsibilities & Deliverables • Develop and draft content, including the creation of visual materials such as infographics and information brochures or slides on CAO processes and a range of accountability-related topics. • Contribute to CAO’s internal and external newsletters by developing content and sourcing information. • Post content to CAO’s website, social media, and other communications channels. • Provide logistics support for external meetings and events. • Develop and maintain communications’ databases and listservs. • Reorganize and maintain CAO’s photo library. • Support CAO case data tracking and disclosure activities. • Liaise with vendors including designers, editors, printers, and photographers as needed. IV. Selection Criteria • Minimum bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs, or areas related to international development, with 1-2 years of relevant experience. • Excellent writing and editing skills, both for technical and general audiences. • Proven skills in website editing/publishing and social media. Experience using Drupal and Hootsuite is a plus. • Demonstrated experience and skills in creating and editing content in Canva (or similar design tools) and Microsoft Office. • Strong organizational and administrative skills, in addition to demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize tasks under tight deadlines. • Excellent team player, willing to adjust scope as needed to support quality communications outputs for CAO. • Ability to work in languages other than English an asset.
