The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to efficiently load, unload, and organize materials within a fast-paced distribution environment. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, materials handling, and safety protocols to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with OSHA standards. Prior experience with warehouse management systems, RF scanners, and various types of heavy equipment is highly desirable. Responsibilities • Safely operate stand-up reach forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment such as cranes for material handling tasks • Load and unload shipments accurately using RF scanners and warehouse management systems • Pick orders efficiently with pickers and perform order picking tasks to meet daily targets • Assist in shipping and receiving operations by organizing inventory and ensuring proper storage of materials • Perform heavy lifting as required while adhering to safety guidelines • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety issues • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to optimize workflow and meet operational goals Requirements • Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, or other heavy equipment in a warehouse or construction setting • Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling • Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picker technology • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently • Warehouse distribution or shipping & receiving experience preferred • Prior warehouse supervisor experience is a plus but not required • Valid certification for forklift operation is required; additional certifications such as crane or clamp truck operation are advantageous • Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in pallet jacks, load & unload procedures, and construction-related equipment is desirable This role is vital for maintaining efficient warehouse operations through safe handling of materials and equipment.
