About the Team The Thought Leadership team at Workday is a forward-thinking group dedicated to establishing the company as a leading voice in the future of work and AI. We strive to achieve this by creating engaging, highly interesting, and impactful content that analyzes emerging trends, influences industry perspectives, and positions Workday executives as trusted thought leaders. Our work directly impacts brand awareness and demand generation efforts across key markets. About the Role Workday's Thought Leadership team is seeking a passionate and experienced Editorial Strategist focused on HR and the future of work. This role plays a key part in developing and executing our content strategy across our thought leadership pillars, ensuring we deliver interesting, high-quality, insightful pieces on our owned channels that resonate with our target audience. Responsibilities: Topic development: Generate innovative and engaging topic ideas aligned with our thought leadership themes and campaign objectives. Content strategy: Strategically contribute to the overall content strategy, ensuring alignment with broader marketing and communications goals. Oversee the end-to-end content creation process, from ideation and outlining to writing, editing, and production. This includes managing relationships with external agencies and freelancers. Author management: Identify, recruit, and manage internal and external authors and subject matter experts (including Workday executives and industry experts) for various content formats (e.g., articles, blog posts, podcasts). Production, promotion, amplification: Oversee end-to-end content processes, collaborating with the production team, the social media team, and others to ensure timely and efficient delivery of content across various channels (e.g., website, internal channels, social media, email). Performance analysis: Regularly track and analyze content performance to identify trends, measure impact, and inform future content strategy. About You Successful candidates for the Editorial Strategist role will be skilled storytellers who can: Create and communicate a strong cross-functional strategy for HR and the future of work. Deeply understand the subject matter and customer needs, and develop provocative POVs based on that expertise. Demonstrate impeccable taste, understanding what’s interesting. Represent the Workday brand with strong, human-first storytelling that surprises, educates, and inspires. Bring curiosity and enthusiasm to the role. Develop and nurture cross-functional relationships; collaborate closely with our multimedia team, and teams across communications and the border marketing org. Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in editorial management, content marketing, journalism, or a related field. Other Qualifications: Proven track record of developing and executing successful thought leadership content strategies. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience working with senior executives and external stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field. Workday Pay Transparency Statement The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
