About the Role We’re looking for an experienced & highly motivated Director, Corporate Insurance & Risk to join Workday’s growing Treasury team. This position will lead the Corporate Insurance & Risk function at Workday, being the insurance subject matter expert and advise internal business partners on potential risks and coverage requirements for company initiatives. This role will have a global reach and will lead the company’s global corporate insurance (including captive insurance entity management). It will drive key initiatives and strategy to build the risk management function and to build a team, systems and policies that scale as the business grows. This role requires the ability to successfully navigate across key stakeholders that include, but is not limited to, business operations, legal, global procurement, product & technology, as well as traditional areas of executive management and finance. This position will report to the Corporate Treasurer. Responsibilities: Responsible for leading the worldwide corporate insurance programs, insurance renewals and interaction between insurance brokers and insurers. Serve as risk management contact for insurance brokers and insurance carriers. Lead all aspects of day-to-day operations for the corporate risk management function including policy administration, Interact with legal (and broker claims advisors) to handle insurance claims in a timely and effective manner to maximize recoveries. Commercial contract review and negotiation including real estate leases and construction contracts. Review complex contracts and propose insurance terms. Develop and lead insurance negotiation guidelines and contract playbooks. Manage all aspects of the captive insurance entity’s operations, from financial performance and governance to policy administration and claims. Lead integration of mergers and acquisitions into global insurance programs by evaluating and securing appropriate coverage, providing post acquisition integration support and ongoing claims management. Collaborate and work effectively on cross-functional teams with Finance, Legal, HR, Real Estate, Health & Safety and Corporate Security on various risk management programs and initiatives including development, implementation, & monitoring compliance of policies, procedures and safety/risk management playbooks. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to automate business processes including reporting, analysis and dashboards. Be the main point of contact from insurance risk management perspective across the company globally. Keep up with industry trends and form relationships with insurance markets. Develop a global risk management strategy that supports business growth and innovation while protecting the company’s assets. Set the strategic direction for all corporate insurance programs. Develop and execute the captive insurance entity’s strategic business plan, aligning it with the parent company’s risk management & financial objectives. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of treasury professionals . Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of risk management . About You Required Qualifications: 10+ years of progressive experience in Insurance Risk Management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role at a large multinational company. Experience with Captive solutions is required. Detailed understanding of policies and best practices of risk management. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Strong track record of building and scaling global risk management teams. Experience working in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to communicate effectively and articulate ideas and results to senior leadership. Strong track record of working effectively with and building relationships with both internal functional experts and external partners and advisors. Professional designation desirable (ARM or CRM). Track record of maintaining integrity while moving with agility and innovating. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
