Join us in helping women and communities heal, rise, and move forward. , Volunteer Position Volunteer Recruiter- For HR International Remote Organization Women of Color on the Move (WOCOTM) Location Remote / Hybrid (with occasional in-person events in Oakland, CA) Time Commitment 5–10 hours per week Reports To Director of Human Resources / Volunteer Coordinator About WOCOTM Women of Color on the Move (WOCOTM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women, girls, and families through education, leadership development, and community engagement. We work to strengthen underserved communities by providing programs in advocacy, health, and leadership. Position Overview The Volunteer Recruiter plays a vital role in building WOCOTM’s volunteer network. This individual will develop outreach strategies, connect with potential volunteers, and ensure WOCOTM’s programs and events are supported by dedicated and diverse community members. The ideal candidate is passionate about people, community service, and making meaningful connections. Key Responsibilities • Volunteer Recruitment & Outreach • Identify, attract, and recruit volunteers to support WOCOTM programs, events, and initiatives. • Develop creative recruitment campaigns using social media, email, community boards, and local partnerships. • Represent WOCOTM at community events, fairs, and networking opportunities to promote volunteer engagement. • Screening & Onboarding • Conduct volunteer interviews or screenings to match individuals with suitable roles. • Assist in onboarding new volunteers, including orientation and training coordination. • Maintain accurate volunteer information and contact records. • Collaboration & Communication • Partner with program leaders to identify ongoing volunteer needs. • Work closely with the HR and Communications teams to post volunteer opportunities and share success stories. • Provide regular updates and recruitment reports to the Director of HR or Volunteer Coordinator. • Retention & Engagement • Support efforts to keep volunteers active and engaged through appreciation initiatives and consistent communication. • Solicit feedback from volunteers to enhance their experience and strengthen WOCOTM’s volunteer program. Qualifications • * Prior experience in volunteer recruitment, community engagement, or outreach preferred (nonprofit experience a plus). • Strong communication and interpersonal skills—comfortable talking with diverse groups of people. • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple recruitment campaigns at once. • Familiarity with social media, online volunteer platforms, Google Workspace or Microsoft Office. • Passion for empowering women, families, and communities. • Have knowledge of AI Personal Attributes • * Outgoing and people-centered. • Reliable and self-motivated. • Excellent listener and communicator. • Team player who enjoys connecting others to meaningful causes.
