Who We’re Looking For We are looking for a Technical Lead, Software Engineering to join our team of Full-Stack Engineers in building products that empower our patients. This role spans our product and engineering organizations, and will regularly influence and inform priorities across the company. This role will be primarily hands on keyboard, contributing to the codebase daily at least 60-70% of the time. The other 30% will be providing day-to-day guidance and unblocking engineers while elevating the overall quality of work across the team (directly and formally managing 1–2 direct reports). What You'll Do Build For Our Patients: Keep patients at the center of technical decisions while advocating for privacy, security, and access to care. Connect technical work to patient outcomes through thoughtful implementation. Technical Execution: Contribute to architectural decisions and implement technical standards through code reviews, design discussions, and high-quality code. Balance speed with building reliable, well-structured, extensible solutions. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and stakeholders on complex projects. Communicate technical concepts clearly and identify potential risks proactively. Technical Leadership: Identify improvement opportunities within your team's scope and contribute to technical discussions that shape project direction. Mentorship & Growth: Serve as a technical resource and example for other engineers on the team. Share knowledge through clear documentation and thoughtful code reviews. Provide guidance when needed and help maintain quality standards across engineering deliverables Required Skills You have a minimum 5+ years experience working in Python, Flask, SQLAlchemy, Django or other modern languages and frameworks. Python and Flask specifically are must-haves. You have a minimum 1+ years experience in a Full-Stack Engineering leadership role, working in nimble, high-growth environments, and mentoring and leading a few engineers. Please note—formal people management is not required. You’re able to balance your own coding workload as well as supporting a small team and managing their overall priorities. You have 5+ years experience with relational database systems - PostgreSQL (preferred), GraphQL. You have professional experience working in a cloud-based environment - AWS (preferred), GCP, Azure. You own end-to-end delivery for key projects, driving architecture, quality, performance, and operational excellence. You make pragmatic technical decisions, balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability; unblock teams with clear direction. You influence within your sphere: align peers and stakeholders, build consensus, and land technical strategy. Visa sponsorship or transfer is not available for this position at present.
