Full Description

Job Title: BI Analyst Job Type: Full time – Exempt Basic Function: A Business Intelligence Analyst translates complex data into clear, actionable insights by developing dashboards, reports, and data models that support operational and strategic decision-making. This role partners with business and technical teams to ensure accurate, reliable, and scalable reporting through strong SQL, data warehousing, and data transformation practices. Responsibilities • Translate business needs into scalable BI solutions by documenting reporting requirements, defining KPIs, and establishing standardized metric definitions. • Create informative, actionable, and repeatable dashboards and reports that highlight business trends, anomalies, and opportunities for continuous improvement. • Conduct ad hoc analyses using SQL and BI tools to investigate ongoing or one-time business questions; deliver concise insights and recommendations. • Improve BI systems by evaluating current reporting and data practices, identifying inefficiencies or data quality gaps, designing enhancements, and communicating recommendations to leadership. • Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from relational databases, data warehouses, and data marts. • Work with enterprise data warehouses to support reporting, trend analysis, and historical performance tracking. • Support and leverage dimensional data models (facts and dimensions) for analytical reporting. • Collaborate with IT, data engineering, and system owners to ensure reliable data pipelines, appropriate data transformations, and optimized data refresh schedules. • Design and support ETL and ELT processes to ingest, transform, and validate data from multiple source systems into reporting-ready datasets. • Maintain user confidence and protect operations by ensuring accurate reporting, consistent KPI definitions, and appropriate handling of confidential and sensitive data. • Interpret, evaluate, and connect data from multiple sources to produce integrated business analysis, forecasts, and performance projections. • Understand, quantify, and clearly communicate the financial and operational impact of business process changes using KPI modeling and performance tracking. • Contribute to team success by supporting related reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives as needed. • Stay current with BI tools, analytics techniques, and industry best practices. • All other responsibilities as assigned by management. • Support WireMasters culture of quality. • This list is not to be considered comprehensive and WireMasters Management retains the right to modify the contents of this document at any time. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience OR Master’s degree in related field. • Strong written, technical, and oral communication skills. • SQL and Data Warehouse knowledge. • Experience with business intelligence tools. • Problem Solving/Critical Thinking. • Software Design and Software Maintenance. • Teamwork, work well under pressure. • Self-motivated and organized. • Math Aptitude. • Analysis.
