Overview Country United States of America State North Carolina Category Supply Chain Vacancy ID 40672 Description and Requirements Description Work Location: Onsite Position Type: Contract, 6 months Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Compensation Range: $70-74 per hour Our multinational manufacturing & distribution company is looking for a Supply Chain Management Specialist. Reporting to the Air Cooled Platform New Product Development Leader, the position will be responsible for sourcing and procurement activities to support new product development and launch. Performing both tactical and strategic sourcing tasks, the position will integrate with global and regional category sourcing teams to ensure category strategies are aligned with platform design. The sourcing specialist will project manage all aspects of the sourcing and procurement process to ensure a smooth transition of activity to the factory Purchasing and Materials teams. The position shall also develop and maintain excellent supplier relationships, develop existing and new sources, and develop inventory and logistics strategies to continuously improve supply chain resiliency. This position will have a particular focus on our data center development programs. Responsibilities • Integrate global category strategies with program deliverables • Partner with engineers on assigned programs to ensure product design includes the category sourcing strategies for concept and engineering check samples • Prepare and process requests for quotation, requisitions, and purchase orders to support prototype unit builds. • Project management of supplier activities for assigned commodities and deliverables for program passports. • Represent supply chain function on cross functional program team. Responsible for delivering program milestones on schedule and product cost at target. • Facilitate smooth transition of the program to the factory purchasing and materials teams • Determine inventory stocking and logistics strategies for suppliers with lead times longer than market driven customer lead time requirements • Assist and execute cost reduction strategies and projects • Collaborate with category teams to develop regional, alternate qualified sources to ensure a resilient supply chain • Periodic leadership updates of program status of supply chain deliverables Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree • 7+ years of purchasing, supply chain, or operations experience within industrial manufacturing Preferred Qualifications • HVAC industry experience • Material Requirements Planning (MRP), inventory management, factory assembly processes and bills of material • Energetic and success driven • English verbal and written communications skills • Ability to make management presentations • Succeed in the day-to-day management of competing priorities • Technical knowledge / understanding of the commercial HVAC product industry or ability to learn expeditiously • Organized with attention to detail, follow-up and follow-through skills • Advanced quantitative spreadsheet analysis skills to organize and analyze data efficiently.
