Full Description

Position Summary The Clinical Dental Equipment Specialist participates in the maintenance and repairs of dental equipment by coordinating between internal departments and external vendors to ensure the work gets done efficiently, expediently, and correctly. This position also acts, to a limited degree, as an in-house dental equipment specialist that can provide knowledge and advice on the cost, functionality, and reliability of different pieces of equipment through their own knowledge and understanding, and by leveraging vendors and other subject matter experts. Essential Position Functions Facilitate dental equipment service and repairs in up to 48 dental clinics, by acting as a liaison between the clinics and the Facilities department Monitor and follow up on repair status, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption to clinical operations Serve as the primary point of contact between clinical teams and service vendors Regularly review vendor performance and escalate service delays or failures as needed Collaborate with dental teams to gather feedback on equipment performance and suitability Participate in product evaluations and pilot programs, incorporating clinician insights Applies clinical expertise gained through hands-on experience as a dental assistant to evaluate and compare new and existing equipment, including cost, warranty, and maintenance considerations, ensuring selections meet the practical needs of a clinical setting. Support quarterly Equipment Committee meetings, including agenda preparation and reporting on key trends Assist in creating clinical training documents and video tutorials for equipment usage Maintain internal documentation and resources on the company intranet and Connect WD Services page Communicate changes in equipment availability, lead times, and pricing updates to clinical teams Contribute to and maintain an inventory log that includes equipment age, usage cycles, service history, and projected end-of-life Use inventory data to support annual budgeting and capital planning efforts Work closely with accounting to manage dental equipment fixed assets and asset transfers Participate in bi-weekly meetings with vendor/service provider for dental equipment repairs Assist Dental Equipment Coordinator as needed, which may include managing the WD Services Inbox, updating monthly calendars and repairs logs, tracking requests and repair status and purchase order preparation Education & Experience High School diploma or GED 2-3 years of clinical experience required in a dental clinic setting working as a dental assistant. Strong working knowledge of dental equipment functionality and clinical workflows. Experience with vendor coordination, purchasing systems, and service management preferred. Proficient with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and Excel preferred. Licenses, Certificates & Registrations Credentials to function as a Dental Assistant per state requirements required Expected hourly range for this position depending on experience: $28—$33 USD Compensation The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. This position is also eligible for incentive pay in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan. Paid Time Off (PTO): Eligible employees will accrue a minimum of 120 PTO hours per employment year in addition to seven paid holidays annually. Physical Requirements The work is primarily performed while sitting and/or standing, but will require occasional walking, bending, stooping and carrying light items such as papers, books, or other supplies.
